Color Code for Blue AMV12...

Does anyone happen to know the color code or name of this blue on this absolutely perfect AMV12?? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Very interesting that you bring this up. I have been studying that car for a while. I don't believe that it's a currently available color. That is a spy shot from some time ago. But if you look closely, the front apron and spoiler are different from the V12V available in Europe. Also, the wheels are from the 2011 sport pack in the V8. The hood vents are body color and the side skirts have the carbon insert like the GT4. I wonder if this is a new variant, possibly a larger V8 or maybe a supercharged car. It may not be a V12 at all. The rear tires don't look as wide as the V12's. I have a feeling that Aston is going to beef up the Vantage yet again, possibly with out a V12 for the American market. This could be a mock up.

It must be an old picture, the sign on the gate shows it's pulling out of Jaguar's test facility. Since the Aston Martin/Jaguar relationship ended with Ford's sale in 2007, there would be no reason for them to be using that test facility - which probably belong to Tata now.

I believe that the colour was "Slate Blue", but Aston Martin colour variations are difficult to figure.

It's definitly a production color. Did a factory tour in Oct09 and saw a few painted shells that blue. The pics don't do it justice.

Yes, I guess so. It's so difficult to get accurate Aston Martin colours as no colour charts in any of their brochures; only a text list of colours.

The only way is to visit your local dealer to view samples, but there again, this only works for current colours.

I hope someone comes up with the correct colour.

Could it be "Pea**** Blue"?

This Aston colour, sometimes known as "Rolls Royce Pea**** Blue", was used on DB7 Vantages and DB9s, etc.

I see my previous post was automatically censored, but You know the bird the colour is named after.......large-tailed, regal, brightly-plumaged, blue/green, coloured bird, begining with Pea......

Soemtimes I think political correctness has gone too far......Geo.

Yes, it's an older spy picture. Thanks for the attempts...peaco-ck blue looks darker and vertigo seems to be the closest match...still not certain. All I know is that it's likely one of the most amazing blues I've ever seen.

Vertigo Blue

Yes, it is Vertigo Blue...
a rare (special order) AML color.

If you search the internet for "Aston Martin Vertigo Blue" you'll see several examples done in that color.

It is my favorite AM color too.
