Do I need to use trickle charger for 7 day trip
You'll be fine.
I've heard of many people not using the Battery Conditioner during our 'Canadian winters' & the car starts perfectly after the thaw.
I've gone regularly 7 to 10 days without driving my car with no issues.

Bit of a toss-up... sometimes it will be fine for a pretty long period. I had our Vantage die in L.A. in the middle of a trip when I'd parked it overnight...
7 days w/o a start is typica for my car. No charging needed. I've had one of my cars (BMW) go two months without a charge. Although I wouldn't recommend that, it started up fine.
I use mine once a week and it's always OK. I was gone for the whole month of April and it still started fine after I returned!

I've been totally fine leaving my V8V for a couple weeks without it, but I usually hook it up if I'm not going to drive it for more than a week because it's so easy to charge with the port in the trunk. 2 minutes and it's hooked up, so why not?
