Can the audio system be upgraded?

i'm looking around at V8V's and there are a few i'm going to go look at. only problem is, they don't have the premium 700w audio system, they just have the basic 160w system. can the 160w system be upgraded, or are you pretty much stuck with it?

I don't know for certain but I would guess it can be upgraded but it will likely be cost prohibitive. If it is really on your must have list I would suggest you find a car that currently has it from the factory. FWIW, the premium audio is amazing! Best car stereo I have ever had and I have spent tons on aftermarket head units, etc.

I totally agree. I love cars, but I'm audio (home) gear crazy.
In the past, I dabbled in car audio and spent serious coin ( $20K in my last 911) on aftermarket systems. The stock premium system in the Vantage bests them all - hands down.
If you're into this sort of thing, you owe it to yourself to get a V8V with the premium system. There should be plenty available... I bet you'd look good in mine.

Really? My wife's THX system (stock) in her Lincoln MKX sounds better than my Astons premium system. It is great given the number of speakers though......but I have only turned it on perhaps 3 times as I prefer the sound from the rear.

thanks, guys, that's exactly what i needed to know. i've found a few '07s for a good price, but finding manuals with premium audio at dealers nearby is kinda tricky it seems.

if there's that big of a difference between the standard and premium audio systems, i'll have to keep looking.

Not actively, but I guess so - yes.
I'm kind of bored with my Vantage (had it nearly 4 years) and rarely drive her anymore. Plus, lately I've had the " I wants" for an early E-type.

ANyone know the specific model numbers of all the audio components included in the Vantage's Premium Sound System?

I'd like to upgrade my E46 M3's sound system with similar components....

I do not have the specific numbers but they are Alpine ... most good shops know about them ... BLVD Customs in FL could help you, but would recommend other components. They installed a nice piggy-back system so I can listen to Sat Radio and iPod w/ my 2007 stock Prem Sound System.
You could get a killer system in your E46 M3 using other brands too - lot's of room.

An early e-type a DD? I should hope not! BTW Bubba, you need to sit in one if you haven't already -- they are tiny inside! I looked at one last year and quickly learned it's not for people over 6ft tall.

Anyway, back to the OP's topic, I agree that the premium Aston stereo is fantastic. It's a definite must!
