Aston Martin says only 100 V12 units per year will make it to North America. Have you guys heard different?

In my opinion-- they will import as many as they can sell. Quotas and corporate statements mean little as long as you can sell the car.

I am the world's foremost optimist, but even I don't believe that AM will only produce that few cars.

I had read that they said that they would produce no more than 1000 V12 Vantage's over the model run. Those key words are open to interpretation. If they were truly going to produce only 1,000, wouldn't they have numbered them?

When direct injection becomes the norm for AM, they will again come out with a 12V model that will be, surprise, another limited edition.

I am toying with the V12 idea, and hope that Stuart can provide something for that as well as the V8. I am not big on waiting 5 months for a car, so I may just go with what is on a car lot with a V8 and have Stuart work his considerable magic.

Here are some facts: The DBS was at one time a limited run car. Now, they can be found at will. The current model range is due for overhaul in 2013-2014. Aston is producing less cars of each model type and have new cars like the cygnet on the way. The V12V was overpriced and did not sell in Europe and the rest of the world. I have from a good source that there are already more than 100 spoken for in the US. I think that AM will make as many V12Vs as orders come in. Having said that, I think that there will only be 2 US model years for it; 2011-12, maybe 13. So its believable that there will be about 1000 in the US alone. As far as the future, I would not look for a V12 Vantage after the redesign. I thin that you will see a lighter, techier more efficient V8. In fact, I would not be surprised to see a V8 producing about 450-475HP that will perform very close to a V12V. I would also look for a similar change in the DB9-DBS line. Each car taking styling cues from the 1-77. Having said that, there are Carbon Black cars available at a number of dealers right now, no waiting. Also, I have spoken to Stuart at RSC and there are mods in the works to get the V12V to a least 550. Having said all of this, I should have mine in a week or 2 and I can't friggen wait.
