Deposit down...Question
Deposit down...Question
Guys,
I just put a deposit down on a 07 V8V coupe, $68,500 with 6000 miles at a nearby Porsche Dealership. Carfax is one owner with clean history, serviced it every year, no repairs. it was traded in for a Porsche 997 Turbo.
This looks like a good deal but it is too good of a deal? (something might be wrong with the car?) The Porsche dealer told me they have done their inspection and maintence on it and everything looks good.
The car is out of warrenty because of the age, should I be concerned about this car at all?
TIA
Pete

Is it this Black one? Quicksilver Exhaust. Nicely done. How did you get him down another 6,500? Also, it doesn't look like a dealer.

sorry, I found another 6k vantage in FL. Maybe this is it. I don't think the price too good to be true, but you got a great deal.

If its that black one, those wheels are what people call hood. But I like the second one. Maybe get a PPI, and check the carfax, tahts all really what you can do, then if it still doesnt feel right, trust your gut. My car came with a problem out of the dealership, needed a new belt and pulley.
Thanks all,
Yes, it's the second one, Carfax is very clean so I think it's ok. I just wasn't sure if the price was too good that the dealership was hiding something. I plan to get Extend warrenty with Aston Martin Orlando later.
CJ - Did the dealer disclose the belt and pulley problem? or you found out later?

Never put all of your eggs in one basket (Carfax). There is no guarantee that Carfax has all of the details. If you don't want to have to come up with every possible question to ask a dealer such as "has the car ever been repainted?", then simply ask them to put, in writing, that they have disclosed every detail they do know about the car's history.
Lastly, there's nothing wrong with having a 3rd party mechanic take a look at the car, assuming he's dealt with exotics.

Agreed, I will ask them to put something down in writing that they have disclosed every detail about this car. I did confirm that it was a trade in from their sister dealership at Naples 7 days ago.
Thanks,
Peter

I have been looking recently, and the dealer in Naples called me a few days ago when that one came in, so I can vouch that part of it. Have you seen it in person and driven it?
Thank you for the confirmation, I spoke to Porsche Naple as well. I begin to feel better about this. I have not seen it or driven it yet, but will do that this weekend prior to taking delivery.
Make sure the front timing cover gasket/seal has either been replaced or looked at!
Most 06/07 V8V's had a leaky one. It only drips a minute amount but is very costly to have repaired out of warranty!
The repair involves removing the entire sub frame assembly which is a 12 hour plus job.
This is a well known/documented repair by Aston Martin Dealerships.

I agree, the price isn't too good to be true and you are getting a really good deal.
I picked up my '07 over 4 months ago for very close to your price, it had 9700miles at the time of purchase.
Again ... congratulations!

By the way, Aston Martin Naples owns the Fort Myers Porsche dealership, so they should have easy access to the service records.
Good idea, I will ask Aston Martin Naples. Thanks
