The results from this might be enough to get me to drive to Houston! Seriously, I am very excited to hear the outcome. I know a couple people that have been toying with the Vantage (superchargers/new clutch) from the Houston area. Very interested to know who Q is.....

Quote: I am curious to see the RPI dyno, the biggest gains will be mid range torque. Even RPIs own dyno only shows like 7HP gain at redline, but in the mid range it makes 15-20ft lbs of torque which is exactly what these 4.3Ls need most.

Should have dynos by middle of next week (fingers crossed)

(RPIs official dyno for reference)

I wonder if the other exhausts Quicksilver (I have), RSC, Lanari etc all increase torque this much.

you are still waiting on those Rennens? By the way I have carbotech AX-6's and man do they squeal. I hope a trip to the track will fix it.

Excited about the ECU.

I can't imagine any exhaust is going to make a noticeable difference in HP.

It's great to see a lot of development but you should just supercharge it. ;-)

Getting 30 hp with tune etc is nice, but as I was reminded last week when I was having a new belt put on, the difference with the supercharger is astounding.

I must say I love this project. I was going to approach a similar endeavor with my 4.3 before the V12V was announced. I must admit however that a SC was part of my plan. I was thinking that a SC'd car with different gearing and a full ecu reprogramming would get to 600HP and a 0-60 time under 4. I hope that you are able to get close to 500. I think that would be a great number.

Have you looked into Ram induction? I think Group M has one that's a bit pricy. They don't make any claims about HP increase but this has always been a tidy way to get a boost. Plus, I think that the architecture of the engine bay would lend itself to this application. Not to beat a dead horse, but if you achieve high 400's with NA, the addition of a SC later in the development could be scary. Maybe by then the RSC product will be market ready. I think that their idea is a bit more real world usable. Anyway, good luck and keep us informed.

Do you think the problem is the exhaust manifold, pipes, cats or mufflers?

Quote: 470+ is definitely the ballpark, how much more I can obtain then that is unknown until I try. There are a few mods up my sleeve nobody else has done so it should be interesting to see just what the dyno says once its all done. I would like stock V12V performance out of a V8 (Obviously not power-wise, but power/weight ratio). The equivalent needed would be 490HP (roughly 200lb difference between the V8 & V12). Its possible in theory but will require quite deep pockets to achieve.

To me its all about having fun and unlocking the true potential of these cars. Luckily for everyone here, I will document the whole process .

You are expecting to get 470+ bhp out of the 4.3L? Call me skeptical, but I just don't see that happening without going with forced induction. How are you planing to get there? Is one of the "secret mods" replacing the engine with a larger one?

The Brembo rotors are officially getting installed next week. Initial impressions will be posted next weekend, and the full writeup about one week later (once testing is complete).

More updates soon...

Do you have to change wheels to fit the new rotors?

Afm
Air fuel mixture... Just did a dyno after installing RSC air intake filters and Aston power upgrade. The car already has a LARINI exhaust. The second dyno run post upgrade the HP increase is noticeable above 5k but the numbers are flat in the lo range and the AFM shows the engine is running really rich. Your posts provide a little greater insight than most , so I was interested in your opinion. Will your ecu reprogram work well without sport cats?

It should make a big difference in theory. No way to know until whoever tunes my ECU completes it and it's put on the dyno.
