Just thought I would update you guys in case someone else finds this useful in the future. So I couldn't find any replacement black plastic high-spec tilt Volvo siren YWK500050 or YWK 500070. I ended up buying a metal high-spec tilt FoMoCo siren from a Range Rover 6G9N-19G229-DG. Used examples can be found as cheap as £15 on eBay, although it may be worth swapping out the battery for a new one (and perhaps trying to mount the battery externally so it can be easily replaced and doesn't leak acid and fry the circuit board in few years time). I had to modify the old bracket slightly to make the new-style siren fit but it was very straightforward. Alarm system service message has gone and I tested the siren is working by waving my hand inside the cabin with the car locked and window open.

So the YWK500050 version is the high-spec one with the inclination?
Weird thing: I lifted my car today when reworking the side markers (it was locked) and the alarm kicked in... even though I have the alarm error message on the dash
Thank you very much for sharing on this forum. The info was very helpful while repairing my wife's 2010 Volvo XC60. When armed, the alarm would go off. I read about the battery issue, but the local independent Volvo repair shop said it was due to drains in the area.
The alarming stopped after I removed the rusted module, 6G9N-19G229-AH, and the vehicle seemed to operate fine. I wanted a new part, but Volvo wanted $343. I found that Ford carries a part for Mustangs, DS7Z-19G229-A, and found a supplier with a good return policy that shipped it for $69.
The new module seems to work great with no false alarms. The only difference is that this module makes a honking sound, instead of a whistling sound when alarming. Just wanted to share. Good luck!

Do you mind sharing where you got the module?
All websites I can find it on charge a 15% to 25% restocking fee...
Thank you.
I purchased a '06 Aston Martin DB9 back in '06 and made it until '21 before "Alarm System Service Required" appeared on the cluster. At that point I did much research and discovered that the Volvo YWK500050 high spec alarm's battery had died. I then discovered that it was no longer produced and the replacement was Volvo YWK500070 which I then purchased and installed without issue and the warning light went out. Fast forward to '26 and the "Alarm System Service Required" light is back on, I dissected this alarm hoping to replace the battery or get some advice on what the current high spec alarm would work, attached are pictures of battery if anyone knows where to source this that would be appreciated if not where to get a new one?
Thank you,
TK
Ebay has a few variations with those specifications. Since you have gone that far it shouldn't be too difficult to replace it.
The only thing they are button style and maybe not fit the case.
Thank you for the advice, I consider myself very clever and good with a wrench but when it come to electrical "I raise the white flag". There is workable space inside the enclosure and I am able to figure out a good way to secure new batteries, my issue is deciding exactly which batteries to purchase?
Thank you

remove tab for original batteries purchased amazon 7.2v 2000mah ni-mh Battery Pack less than $20 mount back of alarm to alarm case securing watertight box amazon box (battery inside) mounted to side of alarm box ABS Plastic Electrical Boxes Electronic Enclosure Black 3.94 x 2.68 x 1.97 inch
I ended up purchasing thru amazon the correct battery after reading specs on old battery and a watertight box. I first tried everything before spending a couple of hours fabricating this box. Decided to remove the battery from any damageable electronics in the future. Make sure to drill breather holes in box, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason the old batteries corroded was lack of ventilation. After two or three starts the system recognized the repaired alarm and warning on dash went away and alarm works well after function testing. Please reach out with and questions.....
