I don't have any info. as to the comparison but, RSC filter is certainly not hard to get - simply order online.

I just purchased an RSC filter btw, I choose it because it's cheaper than the OEM and washable. I didn't even look into K&N - which says something in and of itself as, from my perception, most people here seem to choose RSC over K&N.

I had K&Ns fitted on my V8 and they worked fine. That said, they were not specifically designed for use on the Vantage like RSC's filters. Personally, I'd go with RSC.

Filters

The new RSC filters are an exact fit. I just received a pair and they fit fine. Just push the filter on and give it a twist and it will stay in place while you reinstal the lower air box.

My tech had problems installing the K&N on the V8. I have the RSC's on the V12 and they were a snap. The RSC was made for the car it's not from a motorcycle. It's much easier to predict the performance. I think the V8 gains like 8-10 HP. When I called K&N for their opinion, they wouldn't offer any advise and warned me that the filter wasn't intended for use in a AM.

Anyone know the recommended maintenance for the OEM filters? I ask because aftermarket performance filters are supposed to be removed and cleaned annually. This is a pain for the Vantage b/c the filters aren't readily accessible (correct me if I'm wrong on this). I'm tempted to get RSC filters for my V12, but I don't really want to if it means having to pay the dealer to do more labor than they would for the OEM setup.

Recommended maintenance is remove them, throw them out and replace them at the specified interval. For aftermarket filters it's the same except you can clean and re-use them, so once you have bought them, you don't have to spend $160 on the OEM paper filters every time.

BTW folks - if you want to order Filters email me - Stuart@RSCtuning.com

Okay. Do you know what the OEM-specified interval is? Also, what is the cleaning interval for RSC filters?

Also, do you have any idea of power gain with the RSC filters for the V12? Thanks.

Actually I posted the K&N numers for their filter that would fit the V8V - was discovered by a mechanic I know who wishes to not be published due to his place of employment. RSC filters were not available at the time. I have installed and driven with both K&N and RSC on my V8V. The K&N filters were not bad but not designed specifically for the AM. RSC filters stayed on my car - that shows you my opinion.

The OEM filters are replaced each annual/10,000 mile service. The dealer should actually reduce the price on this service because they are not providing an actual OEM filter, and the labor to install the OEM filter is already built into the service – so, in actuality, you save money on the annual/10,000 mile service with the RSC filters.
With that said, I don't know what a dealership would charge to clean the RSC filters (as I haven't had mine on for more than a year) but I'm sure you can talk your dealer into hitting the filters with a water hose for free

Yeah, I wonder what the dealer would do. I believe the filters need to be cleaned and re-oiled. My concern is how well the dealer would do those tasks, if at all. And it's not like I'd know either way. I would do the job myself, if I didn't live in a condo complex with a shared garage.

Anyone else had the dealer service existing aftermarket air filters on their car?

I have the K&N filters, but the RSC were not available at the time. When I go for my next service, I will change mine out to RSC. Not sure there is much of a difference, but I will feel more comfortable with something made for my AM.

so they should be changed annually? On my yearly inspection sheet it only has the oil being changed and the other stuff being checked?

Regardless I'm at the 11,119 or so miles, and it im sure it hasnt been changed, so we all know what I need the do .
