A good question would be - if there were no other cars in site, why did you take up two spots?

And obviously, the cop didn't tow anything. He just simply reported the violation, and followed standard procedure.

I didn't mean to offend any cops out there. There are good and bad cops just like anything else.
I have experienced in one year, 2 separate parking lot accidents ( while my car was parked) which cost the insurance company $43,000 collectively and landed my car in the Autobody for over a month each occurrence. This is why I parked as I did. I guess people don't see my dark colored, and lowered vantage.
The cop was doing his job, but I felt that he was a little douchy for calling it in. But yes, he was doing his job.
Some people think I'm a ****** for taking up 2 spots. But I always go really far away from entrances where most don't venture.
I'm sorry if I offended.

I think it was a little 'douchy' of the guy who reported it. The intent of reporting these things is to ensure there are spots available - not just to do it. Chances are, he was already pissed off about something, and saw your Vantage there. He may have thought "that bastard thinks he's better than me just because he has more money than I do, blah, blah, blah (insert typical jealousy here)"

And your Vantage was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Some people think I'm a ****** for taking up 2 spots.

Was it a private company owned parking garage or a city owned garage?

Under the scenario you describe this guy was a ****** regardless. And why not a ticket? Towing would only be reasonable if blocking something like an entrance or hydrant.

Why would anyone mind if a special car is parked in a special way? Whether an Aston, Porsche, Ferrari, classic muscle car etc............ I know when I see such a thing I smile, appreciate the sight of such a nice rare car, and expect it to get better treatment than a beat-up daily driver. It has nothing to do with the driver thinking he is special just the specialness of the car.

In the UK you sometimes get clampers that damage alloy wheels ! Nothing you can do about it. Terrible. Just cos some of these low lifes did not discipline themselves to achieve something they get satisfaction trying to ruin our day !

No recourse if they damage the wheels? Okay, fine, they can boot the car, but I would think that if they do, they have a duty to do so without damaging the wheel or would be liable if they did damage the wheel.

True. But last time I checked a court of law does not have sympathy for an Aston Martin owner.

The cost benefit analysis of pursuing a claim versus just paying for a refurb and getting on with your life and wealth creation to buy better alloys tends to be a good priority imo.

I would seek reimbursement for damage on my wheel that an agent of the state inflicted based on principle if nothing else.
