Perfect..that's actually good news. They've simulated the concern and with AMDS datalogger attached..a pid file was most prob sent to them from Aston to monitor..With those reading, file will be sent to Aston for advanced diagnosics by engineering..I'm curious to know what fault codes are stored after the before and after the cause

I spoke to the Service Manager this morning. Apparently AML wants a second set of data to back up the first. It took them three days to be able to get the problem to resurface. I have no idea how long it will take for them to repeat it again.

Needless to say I'm a little annoyed that my brand new car will probably be returned to me with service putting more miles on the car than I have (they couldn't figure it out until they drve the car for at least 30 minutes). Plus, I was hoping to take advantage of this weekend as I don't take many days off from work.

Well hopefully now that they have simulated the concern, they can run the same road test and simulate the fault easily..good to know that AML techline is on this case and the fault is not just being past off by the garage, but there 6 hours ahead in Gaydon, so don't mean to burst another bubble, even if the garage does simulate the concern fast, don't think the garage will get a response till monday the earliest..Sucks when things like this happen though..especially at such low mileage and owner ship..

..keep us posted

Service Manager just called. Car needs a new ASM. From what I understand it will entail a new TCU plus the unit that houses all the hydraulics for the transmission. They are also going to be physically inspecting the clutch to make sure there is nothing else going on. They should have the parts on monday.

If the ASM is in the rear, how are they inspecting the clutch which is in the front?? ..Nice though that you got a response so fast

They are taking the clutch assembly apart in addition to replacing the ASM.
