Need advice!
Thanks for taking a look. I have been searching for my first AM and think I finally found what I want. I located a 2005 DB9. Black on black, 6 speed with 16,000 miles. A beautiful car in near perfect condition.
I have negotiated the price down to $72,000 and was looking for some honest opinions of this price. Of course, I have done some research and have been carefully watching the prices of these cars and I believe this to be a very fair for this car. However, I am in love with this car and I certainly don't want that to screw up my good judgement.
Any thoughts on what I can expect as far as depreciation from this car? I would think that at nearly 7 years old and discounted nearly 100k from new, most of the depreciation would be priced in at this point? Right?? Over the next 2 years, adding only 6,000-8,000 miles shouldn't really drive the price down too much I think.
I appreciate any help. I have really enjoyed this forum and you guys have helped a lot with my decision to buy a DB9.

Thanks for the quick reply. That was exactly my thoughts..
I have been looking for the right car for sometime now and as soon as I sat behind the wheel of this DB9 I knew I had to have one. I drove a 2004 Vanquish as well and just loved the DB9 so much more. The 6 speed in this car is just fantastic! Looks like I'm picking it up this Friday! Can't wait!! It's going to look great parked next to my 996 turbo.

Congratulations!!!
I own the same car, Black on Black. What color is yours?
I had mine thoroughly inspected as I bought it with 7,500 miles...but even though low miles, some things do age. The main issue that was found, and one that likely saved me from having the expensive problem of gearbox issues, was some tubing for the gearbox that was dry, cracking & leaking gearbox oil. I suggest you look at this too (and get everything checked out) as I learned of this from another DB9 owner who had the same issue. All other issues have been non-engine related. Oh, and get a clear bra.
I now use mine as a daily driver and love it.....I'm excited for you, brother!

Yes! Love the black on black..very hard to beat in my opinion. Although I love the car is silver as well.
Im guessing your car has the automatic trans?
There was one issue that the dealer has addressed for me. The check engine light was on and flashing and the dealer uncovered that a cylinder was misfiring. The problem was with a coil pack for cylinder #10. They went ahead and replaced all the coils and the problem is now solved...I hope!
Picking it up in the morning and I'm like a kid on Christmas eve right now!
Thanks for the info

Fun car - mine is a 2006 DB9 Volante with a 6spd manual. A really nice vehicle with lots of smiles per mile. If you are curious and can do your own work it's a pretty simple car. I have a "MaxJack" lift in my garage that paid for itself about 20X over and it makes changing the oil and chasing gremlins that much easier. I also like my FoxPro NT520 OBDII reader as it handles much of the AM systems. All my electrical issues can be traced back to either a weak battery, corrosion at the ground points, or the wire pulling out of the connectors to the ECUs because the were putting tension on the connectors. These three are "age" related and not mileage and not something a dealer or independent will diagnose correctly without a lot of time/effort/$$ or expertise.
Best & as always YMMV!

Oh, and let it warm up a good 10 minutes before getting on it. It takes much longer to warm up (12 quarts, large block) than other engines. Premature excitement will cause excessive bearing wear and early engine failure...

You'll love the DB9 the more you drive. Show us some pictures! I think Martha Stewart also has an '05 DB9 manual.
