iPhone 4 adaptator for 08 vantage

I want to plug my iPhone 4 on the iPod cable in my car but the connector is for older generation iPod. What adaptator/cable do I need to plug the iPhone 4?

I've used a iPhone 3, 3GS and 4..all use the same supplied Aston Martin iPod cable, there is no difference..iPhone 3/3GS/4 all the same connector.

No my iPhone 4 won't connect. I just ordered a Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPhone after doing some google searches. I hope it will work.

While we're on the subject ... I've been meaning to ask about one ipod quirk I haven't been able to figure out.

The 'back' function does not seem to work properly on mine. I can use it to return to the beginning of a track, but no matter whether I access it from the steering wheel or the console, I have not found any way to skip back to previous tracks.

Is this just how the system works?

You may need the updated iPod usb module in the center console. The is a update module for 2nd Gen apple componts. My iTouch did not work in the older style but it did in the new module.

The passPORT is to enable charging on iPods for Aston's older module does not support charging..like AMFixer stated, there are some functions that do not operate with generation 2 iPod..there is a updated module available for Gen 2 iPods to enable charging and solutions to minor glitchs that ppl have..the updated module from Aston is not a warranty concern..so it is customer pay

I have an 08 V8 and I used both an 4 and 4s, both worked with the standard plug... Also the Scosche Charger adapter just allows to charge.

OP could it have been that you had a heavy duty case blocking a full connection?

No I didnt have a case but since I was getting the message saying the iPhone was unsupported and it wasn't charging I assumed incorrectly that it wasn't connecting. It actually did connect but just wasnt charging. Now with the adaptater im able to charge as well.

I think it does come with the 08's. There were two AMV8V Roadsters where I bought mine. The one I didn't buy had the docking cable, but it had gone missing on mine. I tried the cable from the other car in mine, and it worked (but didn't charge) with my 4S.

I can't find it through the normal channels (eBay, Amazon, etc) so it may be
a dealer part ($$$).

Anyone know?

BTW, the sirius radio in mine has the lifetime subscription that came with the car. All Sirius had to do was update the ownership info.
