Doughnuts=Not good

Thanks Landa-having grown up in Detroit with a father in the auto industry it was instilled at a young age. I truly do enjoy this car and have put her through the paces. Never even a hiccup except for this instance which is clearly my fault.
Car will be back in my hands tomorrow at 10am and I have not been this excited since I took delivery.
Are you visiting Aston of Troy in the near future?

I hadn't planned to, but I can go to Aston of Troy if you like. I know both Brians that work there. What do you need? PM me if necessary.

Landa-was just curious if you would be buying one (perhaps you have one?)
Anyways, car is back in my possession and had the AM N420 diffuser installed today. Could not be happier.

No, I don't have one yet. A couple of years ago, I was just about to pull the trigger on one when my real estate investment properties took a substantial hit...and I mean a big hit.
Anyway with recovering from that as well as having two kids in college (tuition, room and board, etc.), I'm on the shelf for another few months.
So put a few miles on your toy for me until I can get in the game .
Enjoy!

I've never seen a pump blow from doughnuts..but then again I never seen someone do doughnuts at full lock (hehe..sry bud)..
When I do them its all throttle and a slight nudge of the wheel, steering is almost straight..
DetomasoGTS74, never even dawned on me to ask if you held at full lock..hehe..but I bet its a lesson learned

The pump is putting out max PSI at full lock with no more gear to turn..as RPM's raise (aka..doing doughnuts)..something is going to let go, is this case, the pump went vains ate the dust..MAX full lock should not be held for longer than 5 seconds..

DetomasoGTS74, many vehicle owner's manuals warn against using keeping the wheel at full lock for more than a few seconds for risk of damaging the power steering pump or breaking a seal. This is common for all cars with power steering. If you put the wheel at full lock and you hear the pump whine, you should back off a few degrees to avoid damage.
BTW, can we get your buddy to make a video where he keeps his video camera or phone inside the car (rather than sticking it out the window) while you do a drive-by, so we can hear your beautiful exhaust sound without the sound of the windstorm?

DetomasoGTS74, the car sounds great! Which exhaust is that? Diffuser looks especially good with your color combo as well. Did you purchase the diffuser/splitter combo through your dealer?
#71
Thanks Brumma, the exhaust is QuickSilver SuperSport with the RSC 200 cell cats. The diffuser is the AM OEM diffuser from the N420. I sourced it online without the front splitter.

I'm assuming you are referring to when my father was upshifting? I don't hear it taking off nor do I remember smelling it when trailing behind Car is at 35XXX miles on original clutch

Yeah.... that's how you cook a clutch. got to let the car bring the engine up the speed , not the engine bring the car up to speed.
