First the fusion, now this. How long before Ford starts putting wings on their cars?

I agree with you regarding the Fusion and it's grill, but not sure I see the resemblance with this. It's the Mustang, right?

I don't see the resemblance either....but I like that Ford wants to bring the Mustang into the 21st centary. With a front like that, I'd buy one. Who'd need a super car when you can get a 50K Mustang with 500+ hp and cool looks?

Had to laugh at the title/your reaction ... I had a similar reaction to this concept when I saw the pictures ... Here's the thread. More pics in there of the original concept, will be interesting to see what the production car actually looks like of course.

I guess it's really styling cues not complete plagiarism. Hyundai has done similar borrowing from MB. It just makes me cringe a bit.

Me too. Probably because it somehow makes our cars seem just a little bit less special, as ice350's post demonstrates. I felt the same way when Jaguar started putting side strakes on their cars.

If a Mustang can diminish or "make less special" an Aston Martin, then it wasn't all that special in the first place.
I currently have 2 Lexus GS cars, an 06 and 07. General motors and others made some of their recent cars to look like the GS. Doesn't make me feel any less about my cars and certainly doesn't diminish my Lexus.

Aston is way higher up the food chain. Why would a Mustang threaten it in any way?

I was referring to the point you made about being able to buy a more powerful, good looking car for a lot less money, that's all. It isn't going to change how I feel about my car, but other people are always ready to criticize. It is, however, disappointing to see some of the design features of your car that make it stand out in a crowd being copied by other manufacturers. Just to clarify, my post was in no way intended as a jab at you, ice350.

i didn't take it as a jab and I didn't intend to sound defensive. I was just trying to understand and make a point simultaneously.

Recently, my wife was telling me how disappointed she felt that Lexus started the parking assist feature and now its being copied by everyone. She felt it made Lexus less special. I told her it made Lexus more special as an innovater of new tech. I also told her that immitation is the highest compliment that can be made.
I really meant what I said but I'm also trying to keep her from wanting to get a new car.

It's all a matter of perspective, right? You're a glass-half-full kind of guy! I should work on that myself.
