V12V for only $129k?!!
V12V for only $129k?!!
I saw this several days ago and never shared it with the community on some hope that I would be able to upgrade from my V8VS to this beautiful V12V for such an awesome price.
Hopefully this gives me some hope that in a few years (ironically when I pay off my V8VS), the V12V will actually be something within my grasp.
Hope one of the 6Speeders picks this up!

I talked to them last week and they are aware they are under market value. They just took it in on trade and want to move it now. They want it gone before winter sets in in Wisconsin. Ownership history and carfax check out. I would be interested if I hadn't already made a deal on a 12 V12. I think it is a great buy for someone but, as always, inspect the car in person first.

Yeah I still dont buy it, just because winter is coming up doesnt mean you knock off $20-30K, regardless of what they paid for it. If market value was $150K+, which it is, they'd ask for it. I talked to a dealer the other day and he said V12V are wholesaling for $140K. This is at a dealer auction. No dealer marks down that much below wholesale just to move a car. Its like Ford saying we are selling F150's for $20K because our invoice is $25K and winter is coming up, even though MSRP is $35K and they sell for that all day. They would have to be stupid to sell at that price, or something is up. And in my experience they typically know what they have and ask for top dollar for it. So whenever you see a deal like this, which is too good to be true, it is. Maybe its the deal of the century for someone, if it is, its good luck for them. I saw a Ford GT like this a few months back, clean carfax and title, selling 10% below market. Turns out it was totaled and rebuilt off the books. Only way we found out was the original owner spotted the VIN and reported it to the consigner which allegedly had no knowledge of the wreck. He saved someones *** that day.
definitely seems too good to be true
but here's the carfax http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory...&partner=ATD_W

This is why it can be so scary sometimes buying a used car. Sometimes, no matter how much homework you do, and how good you are at spotting paint/body re-work, body panel gaps, ect... sometimes you just never know. I'm sure there are a large number of wrecked and re-built cars that fly under the CarFax radar such as that Ford GT.
Looking for an 07-08 Vantage now, and what I've been doing lately, is looking at, and driving as many of them as I can. That way I can have a better feel, and gauge average of how the cars came from factory in terms of expectations of paint, body, panel gap fit, drive, ect... This will at least help minimizing me getting stuck with a re-built basement, back-yard car.

Forget the V12V I'm selling my pristine DBS for that price. Really looking to sell fast so my loss is your gain.

In my experience, Carfax isn't something you can rely on. I had an accident in a BMW I sold a while back. I reported the accident to my insurance company and it was fixed for around $15k at a well-known shop. When I went to sell the car, the buyer had no idea about the accident and was really surprised because he said the car had a clean Carfax. I guess that and $5 will get 'cha a cup of coffee.
Same deal here. A couple of years ago, my brother had a 2004 Infiniti G35. He rear ended somebody, and messed the car up pretty bad. He cheaped out, and had it repaired at a local rinky dinky body shop. He then sold it with a clean car fax. I trust car fax as much as I'd trust 10 hormonally raging 19 year old boys alone in a closed door room with my 18 year old hot daughter.
Don't have a 18yr old hot daughter, just sounded like a good analogy.

I agree carfax is not the end all. Like I said you have to inspect the car in person and if you don't know what you are looking at then have someone who does inspect it. While you never buy a car sight unseen, if you pass on a car because you think its too a good a deal without inspecting it then you lose. Not the seller.
This car may be a good deal and it may not but if you are in the market for one why wouldn't you check it out?
Sooner or later someone will buy it and we all will find out if they made a mistake or not.
The more interesting aspect is the effect this car has had on the used 11 prices. They have all started coming down since this car was advertised. I have been watching V12 prices all year and there has been drop in the prices in the last three weeks. Look at the left over Magma red car for $145. Thats a new low. Granted its not a popular color but its still a new 11 V12. It won't be long before we see used 11 V12s in the $130s and we will look back at the $129 car as not such a low price after all.
