V12V Sportshift?
I asked my dealer about this - They have two orders in the system for 2013 V12's. He even showed me the build list which had '2013' clearly marked and the specs where locked in. (Paint was Mat Black . . . not sure about that

It's not the point of the car. The one thing I love about the V12 is that it was conceived as IDEA, not an order sheet you could just load options onto.
This is very important for Aston. They share so much, they have to carve out an unique identity for each car. Personally I don't think they have done a good enough job at that to date. But this is one car they got it right with.

I would prefer it. I drove a V12V recently and the car was awesome, but the shift throw seemed too long and awkward, not to mention old fashioned. I know lots of enthusiasts hold out for a manual shift whatever, but I would much rather have an ultra-quick sport shift with paddles in this day and age.

Unless Aston gets it right w a sequential 'sportshift' in the same league as that of the exquisite gearbox in the 430 scud... I'd welcome my aston Martin with a nice graziano manual box any day of the week and twice on Sunday!
Every one of the V12 competitors has a sequential and most DO NOT have a six speed. That is what made the car special. It is a car that creates a driving experience that is greater than the numbers.
Try to replace the car with another hand built, aluminum, mid-front engined, v12 six speed car. I can't think of any.
That was the point and it was what made it special. For me this car is a modern version of all those exquisite cars from days gone by. Except its new and has the romance coupled with more modern dynamics.
It is not meant to be the very latest in technology or track times. Ferrari and McLaren have solved that game.
You should buy the V8V S or even the DBS. Both will give you what you are looking for.

It seems like AM like to stick to its heritage. Its more about the driving experience. I have heard AM say its not about how fast from 0-60 or big MPH it is more about the experience of driving the car.
Aston could do it, they are all about the "driving experience", but they also claim to make vehicles for that there clients prefer in Astons range of field..
There's no difference to the transaxle casing from a SportShift V8V to a Manual shift transaxle..just the internals are different, SportShift shifter linkage bolts right up to same position the manual shift linkage on the transaxle goes..so it's possible. I don't see a ZF trans going inside like on the DB9 and DBS due to space on the Vantage....But a awesome config would be the V12V with the new 7-speed ASM. I used to hate the SportShift in the (4.3 and 4.7)V8V's..slow..sloppy....slllooooooowwww.
The new 7-speed ASM is awesome to drive, makes the driving experience feel like a whole different vehicle right out the box..if you drive a 6-speed ASM, book a drive in the new Vantage or Vantage S and you will see what I mean..hehe just leave your check book at home!! ..hehe should of been in sales

What he said. The SS just isn't up to snuff.
