4 Year Service

Hi guys,

Taking my 2008 V8V Roadster for 4 year service next week. I had my 2/3 combined service done January, 2012. I've put on 10,000miles since, at 19K now. I want to get the service done before I put it away for winter.

Dealer recommends this for 4 year:
  • Oil/filter change
  • Pollen filter
  • Wiper blades
  • Air filter
  • Transmission fluid
Is it a good idea to skip Pollen and Air filter as I had that changed in January during the 2/3 year service. What do you guys think?

Anything else I should be looking at?

Get it done in the Spring, after storage - not before.

Pollen filter should be fine, as should the air unless you're in some very dusty areas.

Is it good for a car to sit for 4-5 months with old oil (10K miles) in it?

Short answer, no. All engines produce blow by, products of combustion and unburned fuel that are driven past the rings during warmup and operation. Water and other stuff sit in and on top of the oil in the crankcase. I would want that flushed out before sitting for months.

Agree. Oil changes should always be completed before storage, not after.

Per Aston recommendation: pollen filter every 2 years, Air Filter every three. Unless driving under extreme conditions.

I will have my 9 fully serviced in the Spring as I did this year, but additionally I just had the oil changed only at the dealer before winter storage.

My Vantage 07 in Jan of 2012, still had the original battery and had that replaced as well as a complete brake job which includes replacing rotors (ouch). They will probably check yours at this time.
