Then all you may need is:

Clay bar - Depending on the contamination level of your paint's condition
Protection - This is all depends on your preference. Choose between Waxes, Sealants, or Semi-perm/Permanent Coatings.

I enjoy detailing so I usually use just a wax since durability isn't one of my main concerns. I went with a sealant + wax as a topper for my gf's Lexus that is pictured because a sealant will last longer, then added the wax for extra protection and a slight increase in a "wet" look.

Are you on a budget?
What vehicle are you going to apply on?
Are you looking for durability or looks?
Are you a DIY'er or paying someone to do the work?
How often would you be willing to reapply a product?

You might want to check the last post in this thread on the Meguiar's forum. The Meguiar's tech guy says IF you use both sealant and wax, it's in that order.

Always sealent then wax...or just plain sealent and no wax...or just wax and no sealent.

Sealent = protection and gloss

wax = depth and clarity

Beats me. I've always just used wax, but it seems like there isn't any solid consensus. Some people swear by sealant and others say it doesn't last.

There's a U.K. pro detailer who specializes in Astons and posts fairly regularly on the Aston forum of Pistonheads. His screen name is Paddy328. Everyone who has used him thinks he's the best in the business and he just uses wax.

Sorry for the late reply I am super busy these days
If you are going to pay for this work to be done then you will need to find out which products "they" will be using and do your research as to which ones will work best for what you are going for in terms of looks & durability.
One thing, You can assume someone knows their stuff all you want but from past experience I do not trust detailers unless I have seen their work either in pictures or in person. Then I judge for myself whether this person "knows" what he is doing or not. Don't be fooled into believing someone is qualified just because they work for a high-end company! I have seen some hack-jobs done by so-called "qualified techs".
I would assume that High-end cars costing in excess of $100k would come from the factory defect free.... But we all know, they do not. Just something to keep in mind.
I'm curious as to how much this is going to run you?

After seeing this post... I doubt this guy REALLY knows what he is talking about...
First of all NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is a Meguiars product that can be purchased at any autozone across the country. I am not knocking Meguiars products because I use many of their professional series line but this by no means is a special product in any sense. Also below is a qoute from one of your previous posts:
"After seeing the car he said that he like to wash the car hand applied Meguiars brazilian wax and then Meguiars sealer."

This confuses me quite a lot because in what order is he going to be applying the wax and sealer? Sealants should be applied first and then topped with a wax if you desire... So that is wrong and makes me question his knowledge on detailing.

NXT Tech Wax 2.0 is actually a misleading title because it is a synthetic sealant NOT a wax. This makes me question his knowledge and experience once again!

What are your thoughts?!?

A few posts back I mentioned a detailer in the U.K. who posts on Pistonheads, Paddy328, who specializes in Astons. He spends the bulk of his time polishing, sometimes two days or more in really bad cases. The important thing here is that sealants or waxes don't give a superb shine. It's the condition of the paint underneath. It's surprising how many people wax a dull finish or one with swirl marks and aren't happy with the results.

Here's an example of the magic he can work. Too bad he doesn't make house calls in the States!
