ACE Mech 7 Wheels Ordered

I ordered a set of ACE Mech 7's for my 2005 DB9 in the hyper silver and should be here next week I'm hoping (see pic). I did the factory 19" size as big wheels are not my thing. Does anyone know if I will need new lug nuts for these (forgot to ask when I ordered)?

Also planning on running 245/40/19 and 285/35/19's for tire sizes. Element Wheels said this would not be a problem so I ordered them. Will definitely let you guys know how it turns out.

If anyone is interested I'm selling my factory DB9 wheels as well without tires, center caps, and TPMS for $650 +shipping for the complete set (chrome is pealing though). Email me for pictures. Perfect track wheels.

I also have one sport pack rim (see pic) as well for $550 + shipping part# 6G43-1007-BA, A6151FD-T6 (very good condition but has a few marks). If you curbed yours this is a great replacement. MSRP is $2500 each on these.

I'm sure the guys on here who bought some trim pieces from me can vouch for me as a seller on this forum.

Can't wait to see the wheels on your DB9. What rear offset did you go with? I've been looking at ACE and Forgestar wheels for my DB9 as well.

Can't wait either! Element wheels decided on the offset for me. I simply told them what I wanted (factory look).

Yes you will need new lugs, almost all aftermarket wheels do

Wheels arrived, yay! Enclosed are some real quick pics. One of the wheels arrived with a smudge in it. Bummer! Not too worried as I'm sure Element will take care of it. The fitment appears to be spot on. Kinda hard to tell without tires but the guy I talked to about fitment seemed very knowledgeable. Also the lug nuts I ordered from them appear to bottom out on the lug stud before they get tight, bummer! Looks like I will have to wait to get these mounted. Here are some teaser photos in the mean time. So far I'm very happy with the looks of the wheel! Gives it a nice aggressive look. Can't wait to get the proper lug nuts and tires mounted.

No not at all. Actually its about the same distance as the stock wheels to the caliper if I remember right. I had the garage door closed so there isn't much light and I think the shadows are making it look closer than it is. Either way I guess will find out once I get the correct lugs to torque them down with.

Will the sport pak wheels fit on a 2008 V8V? Congrats on your new wheels!

Hi Astongirl,

I don't know if the wheel I have will fit your car. Best to call the dealer and reference the part #Part#6G43-1007-BA and A6151FD-T6 that are stamped on the wheel to see if it will fit.

Dan

What's the difference?

In looking at the pricing on these ACE wheels, they are a third of what HRE, ADV.1 or others would cost. That is really huge.

Why such a big difference? Are they forged also? What am I missing? Is this just US versus foreign manufacturing maybe?

Thanks Dan. I'll find out. I'm not sure if I want to change the wheels yet, but I do like less spokes than what I currently have. I've seen a couple of different wheels I like better than mine, but do any of you know if the warranty will be void if I put aftermarket wheels on the car?

Materials and build process pay a huge part in cost. I'm sure these ACE wheels are one piece pressure cast wheels which are not as strong and light as forged wheels (HRE's). You also get what you pay for. Out of the 4 wheels I received only 2 were usable -- others had paint flaws.

I got the correct lug nuts in today so was able to mount the rear wheels on and really like the look! Below are some teaser photos. Still waiting on the replacement front wheels so hopefully I will get those soon to complete the overall package.
