Will This Light Go Out......

...........on it's own.....? The airbag red light and of course the red tri-angle....because I drove the car without a pax seat installed? Is this a service center reset or a certain number of start cycle reset? Mucho appreciated in advance.

If you set everything back to normal, the light will go out on its own.

You could also disconnect the negative cable on the battery, let it sit for ~15 minutes and reconnect. My previous DB9 had the airbag light come on and that's what I was told to do. It worked.

Just curious, when you disconnect the battery do you lose all of your radio presets, seat memory, etc.?

my 8-ball says yes, you will..........which is why I'm going to try the let it go out on its own, first. If not, no big deal cause the 05 db-9 has no seat presets anyway.

Don't think I lost the seat memory but I'm the only driver. Have no idea about the radio presets b/c I listen to Pandora or iTunes on my phone.

Can tell you that if you have a state inspection coming up and don't drive the car much don't do it until after the inspection. When you disconnect the battery it resets all the codes and will show no readings on an OBDII scan..... Had to drive my DB9 several hundred miles (the car only had 1100 miles when I traded it...) in order to have a state inspection done!

? that went right past me.......Honestly I don't GAS because the car drives great........I'll disconnect the battery later. Right now this is all about self healing based on start cycles but I am not optimistic about that theory...........will report when I know something.........right now......."I KNOW NOTHING"---Sgt Schultz

shadowhusky is infamous around these parts
My airbag light turned on about 10 minutes after I picked my car up. after talking with the dealership they told me that if the passneger seat is moved too far back that it interferes with the air bag sensors and will illuminate the light. I dont know if that is the same thing you are experiencing or not but maybe move the passenger seat forward a little or adjust the tilt on it so that it isnt all the way back againt the rear of the car. My light turned off after about 5 minutes and hasnt turned back on.

Wow......that's an interesting theory. I will give that a try but the potential problem with that is it obscures my vision to the the right but I will try it....

There's a thread on here that explains why this happens, IF the seat is not programmed properly.

As you tilt the back, the seat moves forward so that the seatback doesn't touch the rear seat, and if you move the seat rearwards, the seatback tilts forward, so that regardless of the seat position, the combination of fore/aft adjustment and tilt angle never results in the seatback touching the rear seat.

Now, if it does touch the rear seat, it levers the seat cushion upwards at the rear, causing the airbag warning. At least that's what the AM tech said.

Indeed, one day on my way to the dealer, I scooted my passenger seat backward (my wife likes to sit awkwardly straight because of lower back issues). I also placed my very heavy DSLR on the seat. The combination of these two things caused the airbag warning. The dealer's tech explained that the seat angle and weight of the camera caused the problem. Once we moved the seat, the airbag warning went away.

verrrry interesting.....I will give this a try...Thanks Something tells me that my seat does not react that way on my 05 db-9 with the auto tilting function. It's not in my manual and I will read the service manual which I have.
