a strange question...

As a new member to this site, I'm embarrassed to make this sort of trivial question my first post but.... how common were heated seats in the 06-09 V8V?

I'm in the market for another car, and I'm deciding between used V8V vs. Jag XKR in the < 75K price range. I just love the V8V looks, I've watched every YouTube video on them, I've been lurking on this site for a week reading posts about service costs, etc. Everything was lining up for me to buy a V8V. My wife endorses the idea but has demanded heated seats (we live in Atlanta - lol). As I look through V8V's available on line in my price range I just can't find this option.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have.

Hmmm, in my searching experience, nearly all of them have heated seats. It was an option, but most original buyers (and dealer specs) included options like that.

Some listings may simply be leaving it out.

Heated seats should be fairly common. I've seen far more with it than without, but it haven't kept a tally so take that with a grain of salt.

In Atlanta, you should be more concerned with summer temps. Unfortunately, V8V's are not blessed with cooled/vented seats.

Ibis: I just tried to respond to your PM, but apparently I don't have enough posts yet to qualify. Could you send me more details?

Telum01: I wanted to make sure to clarify that "I" am not worried about heated seats; I've had cars with them and never used the heaters in Atlanta. But my wife really wants them and its an easy request to agree to. I'm not sure I understand the comment about cooled/vented seats? Do the V8V seats tend to really heat up in summer (more than I would see with other cars)?

Telum meant "aren't". If they were available, I'd have them.

I'm sending you another PM.

Fwiw... I sold my V8V for an XKR... Both amazing cars. The jag is far and above better on paper. The Aston is by far the emotional winner.

Sorry, didn't realize my typo, thanks for catching it.

I'd go so far as to retrofit them if it was available and feasible! Or, it'd be a very convincing push to get me to trade in for a new one. V12VS with cooled seats? SOLD.

The seats do tend to get a bit warm in the summer down in the south. You'll have to crank the A/C to max during the hotter days to keep cool.

RR: your post exactly expresses my feelings. I keep reading up on the Jag and just when I convince myself to seriously consider it I look at the V8V and forget everything. I am going to test drive the Jag and try to keep an open mind, but I think the decision is pretty well made.

Just an update. I tested two '07 V8Vs yesterday. Both of them are offered online on a couple different car sites. Neither ad said the car had heated seats. Both, in fact, did have heated seats. So it does seem to be a fairly common option. 1 more barrier removed in my quest to buy an V8V !
