Thumbs up Navigation System for DB9 - Updating the DVDs

My recently-purchased 2006 DB9 Volante came with the original NAVTEQ 2 disc set of DVDs, labelled East and West. I searched this forum for advice about updating the DVDs and found information about ordering discs from either Aston Martin for $800 - $1000 or from Volvo for $200. Ford Motor Co, owned both Volvo and Aston Martin in 2006 and used similar components in both cars, including the Navigation System. The company that sells the discs is HERE, LLC. 3630 Raines Road, Memphis, TN 38118. 1-888-628-6277. The DVD that I ordered from them, Product No. T1000 - 20655, named North America Map DVD for HDD Version 2013 DIDN'T WORK. It wasn't recognized by the DVD player. I called back and spoke to a very helpful person, Mercedes, ext. 26384, who told me that two products are made for the Volvo, the first with one disc and the second with three discs. She asked me to return the first disc and order the other set, which I did. It arrived yesterday and IT WORKS! Product No. is T1000-19226; Volvo Melco MMM DVD North America Pkg. 1222. Cost is $199 plus shipping and tax. The cover of the disc package is: Volvo Navigation System, Volvo VNS, North America. The package comes with four discs, one being a Cleaning disc, which for some reason wasn't recognized by the DVD player. However, my Nav System now is updated through 2012 and I am a happy camper!

Good result! You can also order online from navigation.com (free shipping, same price). I never pay attention to the part numbers, just order for a 2006 Volvo XC90.

I seem to be one of the few that actually like the nav system -- always gets me there and back, but really only useful once you've set a destination.

I use it most when I go from Canada to the USA -- roaming data charges are a killer and make Google maps a non-starter for me.

OK, two years later, I was wondering if anyone knows whether this information is still good? The discs at Navigation.com and Volvo.com for the Volvo XC90 navigation now cover information up to 2014. Does anyone know if they still work on the 2006 DB9 navigation? Thanks.

I bought the XC90 discs for an 06 less than a year ago. I bought them from Volvo for under $200 and no shipping. Work perfectly.

Can you please show me some pictures of the updated navigation ? Will it look the same as before with more information about the roads, restaurants OR the whole interface will be updated?

Well, Volvo this time charged shipping and sales taxes. For what is worth, I hope they work.
