Ideal Aftermarket Wheel/Tire Size for V8V?

Hey everyone,

I bought a new 2013 V8 Vantage last year and I'd like to put on aftermarket wheels and tires. My rationale for changing the wheels is primarily the look, but I'd also like to maintain or improve performance. I think I've decided on the wheel (http://www.cecwheels.com/collection/c884_Forged), and I believe I'd like to go a half inch wider, but now I'm debating whether to go 19" or 20". Therefore, my question is this:

In the opinion of this forum and all of its collective wisdom, what is the ideal wheel/tire size combination for a V8 Vantage?

Caveat: I think the car is low enough as it is and would prefer not to have to lower it (I already scrape enough )

Thanks everyone! This is my first post so go easy on me!

Im quite sure they will rub on full lock.

I did a rear to front tyre swop to test an issue and the rub happened quite early while turning wheel.

Also the car camber steers with wider tyres. Thats why front tyres can sometimes appear to be on the narrow front on some performance cars imo.

Thanks for the reply Vergis. Are you running the stock wheel/tire combination?

Trying to find out what others are doing.

probably not... there is a lot of clearance and the 255 is not that much wider than the 235, especially on a 8.5" front rim. also, you did a font to rear swap? that means that you put the 9.5" rim up front, probably clad with a 275.... there is not much correlation you can get from from doing that, other than showing if will rear rims with 275s fit
as far as tramlining with larger tires.... i just don't see it on many cars ive done this with, as well as running "4 square " on the race car. it just makes everything better, but one factor..... heavier steering.
in fact, the interesting thing about the vantage is that its wider up front than it is in the rear. generally, your point for sports cars with smaller tires up front, is in reference to a much narrower track up front, and it just so happens that there is not much room up front to fit a bigger tire either. you are talking Porsche 911, NSX, etc.

Fantastic wheel, Great Look! 235/xx-20 and 295/yy-20? Do you recall the offsets? I too am looking for the holy grail of wheel & tire specs for a 20" without lowering.

Very nice wheels. The rear wheels offset is very nice.

However it does look like it sits a bit higher up.

With regards to my tyre set up I have stuck to oem. If I want better cornering I would opt for 2 or 3mm spacers rather then wider tyres. I dont really want to increase the ride height either. For me it sits just right.

Not sure on the specs I bought the Modulare wheels used - this is a previous post before I bought them:

007 Vantage had a huge writeup on this very topic. You may find it useful, as he spec'd his wheels to the perfect offset for 255 front and 305 rear tires.
