Battery Conditioner Storage Location
Battery Conditioner Storage Location
I have what is probably a dumb question...I bought my car used (2008 V8V Roadster) just before winter, and looking at the build sheet for the car, the battery conditioner was included. However, I cannot find the thing. I know it is certainly possible the previous owner lost it, but, I can't even find a place where it looks like it would make sense for it to go. All the manual specifies is that it is in the trunk. The compartment below the 12V socket is completely full with the compressor / flat tire kit, I don't see how you could even fit anything else in there. And there are no other obvious compartments in the trunk.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Again, this is a roadster, I assume that might matter.

It's probably not there, it comes in a box about the same size as a shoe box but half the "depth" and I dont think there are any compartments to hide it. If it does I would like to know as well so I can hide mine
There really isn't a "spot" for it. I keep mine (the CTEK) in it's bag just loose in the trunk.
As it seems you'll need one, don't get the OEM one. It's just CTEK internals. Grab and . To emulate the slow charge of the OEM unit, charge your aston on the "motorcycle" mode for the CTEK 3300.

For just a few more $$$ you can get this one, as I did. It has a couple more modes, such as "recondition".

Motorcycle mode is half the charge rate of car mode, and IIRC is the rate at which the OEM unit charges the battery (the OEM doesn't have two rates, just "normal" which is equivalent to the motorcycle rate on the 3300). I doubt you'll do anything harm on the car mode, but just to be safe I try to emulate the OEM recommended rate.

[QUOTE=flinder;4295444]CTEK technician advised me to purchase as above and to use the motorcycle icon for maintenance. Probably good advice for any vehicle in storage.[/QUOTE
Well that clears up a question. My OEM Aston Charger failed so I returned it to CTEK, with a note to fix it and I would pay them. They returned it un-fixed and told me to take it to my dealer. I wrote CTEK in Sweden and told them I thought that was poor customer service. So they sent me a new charger to replace the OEM unit. I was surprised it was a motorcycle charger Model US0.8. I've been using it for the past year and it works just fine to keep my Battery maintained.
