I know it's just a rendering, but I absolutely hate the headlights.
Same here. They don't 'fit' into the fender indents like lights on the current gen cars do. The indents are there to carry the lamp units, so unless they tuck nicely into that space, the traditional indents make little sense.
Also, I see they've used a Vanquish Mk I grill design.

Its a poor rendering as they were using the DB10 as the model. The DB11 will be different front and rear, as it needs to be modified for crash protection and gov't standards. I think it will be longer as well compared to the existing DB9's. I am sure it will be a stunning automobile.
This picture is what the Spectre DB10 looks like which is supposed to be the design language of the next DB11 - not classy, just assy. This is supposed to be progress? Glad I did not wait till the next model.. even the shifter looks odd.

Actually, nope. I thought the same thing but when I went looking for historic precedent in AM styling, I found that most of the pre-DB7 had no such rationale for the indents (and even the DB7 is just hinting at the future). The grill shape is just a brand shape and styling choice. There are always bone lines receding into the hood from the negative curve corner, but integration of the headlamp shape is a new thing and therefore not intrinsically tied to the indents.
All of that said, I agree that there is some curious (pointless) shaping happening in the headlamp unit. Why the negative curve at the inside line? Wouldn't it fit more cleanly if that inside line just followed the part line of the hood? So fix the headlamps.
Meanwhile, that's beautiful. I love the harder, crisper edges and the aggressive grill (which does need some finesse yet).
Hope its performance is finally enough to convince more buyers that its the GT they really want (psst, useful back seats might help). I don't know what AML's capacity is, but sales are pretty sad and need to get glad. The styling direction so far has my vote.

I'm guessing that a consumer-ized version will be much less ***-y. Some things in there are good and I applaud the move toward a more high performance look. While the Rapide is free to look more lux, the DB, Vanquish, Vantage have to start looking and feeling like high performance cars. It's what the market wants. Yes, I like my Vantage interior, but no one gets in and says "Wow!!! this thing must be fast." I'm not saying they should go all the way to Lambo town, but slick tech-ness is in order.
I like the direction that the Vanquish pointed, so I'm hoping for more of that.

I'm curious to know what they based their render on - doesn't look anything like the spy shot below.
Well, there are some conflicting bits but:
The entire bonnet and quarter panel set up of the mule is a single, removable unit. So I think we can ignore all of that form language. The crease running high on the door is markedly different (prefer the rendering) which makes for a potentially big difference on the hips.
Either way, really looking forward to next gen bodies an interiors all around.

Thanks to you and Wiki I have now learned what a mule is!
I hope they don't keep the three ribs on the bonnet, reminds me of some sort of pre-war amphibian design. The ribs look quite unfinished as they meet the windscreen so it may be version 1 of several.
I quite like the he high body crease and the way it meets the waist. I think a crease from the strake will make it look too similar to a Vantage and I sense they're treating this as a completely new design.
I agree about the lights but they are not that bad. Aston has to keep some what current with the designs that are going on in the overall tents in automotive styling. I think if that is going to the next body it is a good looking cat. Now the dash is a different story.
