Well....I have always loved the look of these fine motorcars and have haunted this forum for a while and while in Scottsdale this week found an exceptional example, 6 speed, grey/black, updated side skirts, front bumper, H&R springs, 19" factory wheels, perfect records, Autocheck, carfax etc. and felt absolutely compelled to pull the trigger!
The dealer, SCOTTSDALE SPORT & CLASSIC MOTORCARS (not at auction) was a pleasure to deal with and I will get a chance to drive it around for a week or so before they store it for me until mid March when I intend to drive to to the coast then home to Seattle.
If anyone knows this car (from Michigan) where it was obviously someone's garage queen, I would like to thank them for taking such good care and assure them that this will continue in earnest!

Beautiful Car. Enjoy! This is a great place to be if you have any questions on your car. From what I can tell that seems to be the most popular model and year on this forum.
Very nice looking Vantage, classic color combination as well. if you don't mind me asking what was the price and the mileage on the car? And was there a Aston used car warranty?
Ron
Beautiful car. Nice upgrades with the sills and the RSC front splitter.
We are just a few hours North from you, and I have family in Issaquah so maybe we will connect some time!

Congrats! That is a nice car. I looked it over a while back when it was at a local Cars and Coffee gathering. It is almost identical to my car except for it has the front lip and my car has the later sport pack wheels and clear taillights. Otherwise they are clones: colors, options (no nav as well), and the N400 side sills.
Long time reader and first time poster. I felt like my modest question may not warrant a new thread, so I'll insert it here since at least two topics seem to relate (a new-to-me Vantage and suspension).
I've been looking at the Vantage V8 since 2006, and I've finally come around to actively searching for one. I spend more time on m3forums.net and mbworld.org, so I'm still trying to get caught up to speed on AMs (like drinking water through a firehose). Most of my other questions, I can do my own research on, but in the meantime, was wondering if any of you experts can fill me in on the car below being sold here and shown in the attached images.
I saw these photos during my search for a V8V, and really love the stance, ride height (not too low, not too high), and how flush the OEM wheels are to the fenders. I'm guessing this car has either lowering springs or a coilover set, and I assume it also has spacers. Does anyone know what the specific coilover/spring and spacer size(s) might be? I don't like using spacers, but I'd make an exception to keep these OEM wheels on her. Also, just to confirm, those OEM wheels are the 18 inches, correct? Lastly, on these cars, is it possible to lower the car and still keep the camber at OEM?
Drop looks about the same as my H&R springs, guessing 15mm front spacers and 20mm rear spacers. The rear spacers almost look like they're further out, but maybe it's just the images.
If those are H&R springs, trust me, they're LOW. Great springs if you can handle them, though.
I never had any issues running spacers (15mm fr/20mm rr), including 40k+ miles and track time.
The wheels are either 18" or 19", that style came in both sizes from the factory.
You can lower and keep it pretty close to factory, but an issue that comes up is the likelihood of tearing your CV boots (I've already ripped one to shreds).
Not a lot of info available about that car, kinda worrying.
Did you get any rubbing with the H&Rs and the stock wheels, and is that about the same height which tore your CV boots? And, I definitely did not know there were both 18 and 19 inch options for that same OEM wheel...another variable to I'll need to keep in mind.
I was also considering tracking it occasionally - curious if you needed to install a brake kit at all, or if you found that the OEMs were enough?
And yea, I probably wouldn't be purchasing that particular car - but was curious how I would get that profile.
CV boot tear was with the H&R springs and 15mm front/20mm rear spacers. Tire size one-up from OEM (235 fr/275 rr was standard, I run 245 fr/285 rr with no ill effects)
Cliff notes: OEM brake pads may or may not be enough for you. Upgraded pads are recommended. Porterfield R4S pads are quiet and dust-free (good for the street) but don't hold up on track at all. No need to go big brake kit if you've got good pads.
Awesome...thanks for your link. I was reading up on other threads/forums too about the brake situation and seems others agree. Glad to know that I don't have to dish out the few grand for a BBK.
