Aston martin engine builders?

Hey guys, I own a 2010 db9 am11 motor for those of you who know what that is. My question to all of you enthusiast is, who is a good engine builder for these motors. I want to get a little more power out of this.

bremford rose is one of the specialists, very well known in the UK. They just co-opened a shop in AZ I believe.

Are you looking for an engine build or just more power? You can get a good increase in power from exhaust and tune without actually tearing your engine open (which is far more expensive).

Are you sure it's an AM11 engine? AM11's weren't used in DB9's until 2013.

We've got a bolt-on 50BHP upgrade, in stock, can ship this week.

With OEM Back Box
http://www.velocityap.com/Aston-DB9-...pnoexhaust.htm

With our XPipe Back Box:

That's the low hanging fruit and the easiest power. If you want to go full built engine, Pavel is your man: http://pretuning.com/

He just finished a build on a similar age DB9 engine originally 450BHP at the crank, fitted with our power pack. Best dyno so far was 437RWHP and that is with some O2 sensors that turned out to be wrecked from when the engine let go pre-build and before we've even dialled in the tuning.

Welcome to the forums!!

You Sir, have a AM09, not a AM11...sry :-)

Aston started with the AM04 in 2004 UK model DB9, then in 2008 migrated to the AM09 for 2009 model year and ran it till 2012.

The AM11 started in 2013 with the DB9 newface lift..Basically the DB9 that looks like a Virage, but is not a Virage..yet it actually is a Virage with a different engine and badge...*shakeshead*

If your looking for a little power increase, like Stuart@VelocityAP mentioned..bolt-ons for exhaust+intake+PCM tune are excellant!! I've done it before and it's a night+day difference, on the AM04/AM09 vehicles like yours.

As for engine overhaul and increasing displacement..you would need an engine builder, you wouldn't be the first though..usual increases I see are from the stock 5935cc to 62xxcc, so you go from the stock 5.9L to 6.2L(hehe..did you think it was a 6.0L, well it's close enough right ..LOL)..regardless the 6.2L is a nice increase but not really worth the cash unless your overhauling for a reason of repair that requires the engine to be removed.

You can take it to any good builder, have them mill the crank and make it into a stroker and then port the heads, mill the bowls, plus headers and you should make it a 6.5l or better, might get you 200hp, but might also lose some tq.

If it were me, I would start off by getting new cam shafts, port the heads and slap on some headers and then see where you are after that. Don't forget to update the torque convert if you gain more than 100hp, otherwise you could hurt your performance in the long run.

Always a good option, don't think cams are available on the aftermarket(so custom 1 off cams) and your still stuck with a non VVT engine. Sounds cheaper to sell the car and buy a detuned 600bhp DB11..or even a AM11 swap

True, but people will always do things like this, just to say they did it.
Also, you could regrind the cams and save the VVT.

Also, there is the fact that you now have a car the will keep up with or beat newer cars.

Happens all the time. Lot's of dreamers out there. I'm still eying the turbo setup Stuart is talking about. All said and done that is about $20k it sounds like. I'm not sure I could talk my wife into that. Stuart please PM the cost of bolt on for a 4.7 Vantage.

You mean for the turbo kit or the NA power pack? I don't think the Turbo kit will be $20K all in. We're getting closer, we get 2 days of solid work on it and then we have to pull off and work on production. I'm not complaining, busy is good... but anyway, I have a pretty firm handle on the pricing and I think it will be a fair bit less than $20K installed.

Yes but won't the clutch need to be upgraded? When you add significant power to most cars the stock clutch won't hold and and I assume that is the case with the Vantage. So my assumption is that you need to budget for a clutch replacement also. Unless the V8V uses the same clutch as the AM11 based V12S, then it should be OK.
