Price advice for a V8 Vantage

Hi all,

Was looking for some pricing help. I know you guys are the experts so I wanted to check in with you and see what I should be paying when looking for a used 2007. I know the options can adjust the value. I've seen a few without nav or premium radio so not sure how that changes the price or if anyone would want one without those options. Miles seem like biggest change on value so:

For a 2007 model year:

15-20k Miles: ?

25k - 30k Miles: ?

30k - 38k Miles (low/no options): ?

Thanks a bunch guys and gals!

Cheers!

in South Africa for a mint 2007 you will pay between 45000 USD to 55000USD but our market is not as big with second hand units.
Currently in SA there are around 37 Aston Martins for sale (used) you can google or local auto trader just remember that prices are in ZAR so you need to divide by around 15.

In the UK the cars are much cheaper, wanted my wife to bring me one (she is British and has an address locally in the UK) but the import taxes made it un practical.
You could buy a good one in UK for 25 000 pounds and ship it for 2000 USD if you dont have the tax burden.

Since I just finished the process of finding my Aston.

I learned during my research that AM's are not too affected by miles. You can find low and high mile 07 cars in the same price range.
I wouldn't go that approach to check price vs mile difference.

You need to set your requirements.
MT or SportShift (Auto) - usually MT cars hold value better and cost more
Roadster or Coupe
Color - Big point what affects price.
Maximum Miles you would accept in budget

Options:
Sport package will add $
Premium sound
Navi
Bluetooth
Heated seats
and so on.

Trace nation wide, shipping is not too expensive.
The Grant Buyers guide helped me a lot finding the model year and options I want.

I had to adjust my budget to get the perfect car but I got a great deal.

Cheers

I don't think options play much role in what they're worth. (Other than the Sport Package) Low miles (ie: under 20K) still pulls a premium IMHO. You should be able to get a 30-40K mile one for very low 40's. I'd expect a 10-15K mile example to still bring near or over $50K. An automatic is probably worth a few grand less.

You need to find a car you want and negotiate the pricing from there. What's important to you? If all you care about is the badge, there are plenty of cheap cars out there. I will admit that I paid thousands more than what my particular car is technically "worth", but it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I wasn't willing to compromise on colors, miles, or options, and I plan to keep it for a long, long, time.

You guys are the best! Thanks very much for all the advice! I should have written more details about what I was looking for however. I was Searching for an 07 Manual Transmission only and color wise: Grey,Silver or White.

It sounds like the prices have been going up on v8 Vantages, most that I've seen that are silver or grey with 15k-20k miles are going from 56-60k nothing under that. I've found one that was higher on mileage (almost nearing 40k miles) for about 45k and that didn't have many options either. Luckily I do have the aston martin guidebook which has helped a ton it's just down to getting one that has been taken care of and hopefully a decent price. The prices seem to be all over the place hence seeking help from you guys on what Price range I should be looking at for X amount of miles/options. (I know it's not an easy answer just looking for ballpark)

I bought what you're looking for with 11K miles a few weeks ago. My only real criteria was some shade of silver and a non-black interior. I think I got a fantastic deal for a CPO car; granted I ended up with an example sans Nav and heated seats.

For $60K I would be trying to step into an 09. Although I guess the prices of those may have also gone up recently as well.

The right car will come. Took me 5-6 month and A LOT luck as well.
In the end I found the perfect car for me.
Exactly as I would have ordered.

I would also add, that buying from an authorized Aston Martin dealer is important.
That way you can have them give you the pre-owned one year warranty with the deal. When I bought my 2007, I purchased it from my local Aston Martin dealer. The car had been sold by them new in 2008. I told my dealer to be on the lookout for a used coupe with a manual transmission. My car has every option besides seat memory and heated windshield. I have added the powerpack option and the sport exhaust PLUSE the 19 inch split spoke sports supenion wheels. I also late last year extended my Aston Martin warranty for one more year.

The pre-owned 1 yr warranty only applies if it's under the 10 yr mark. My local authorized AM dealer will not offer this, even for purchase, with an '06 V8V I was looking at.

There are several sub-50k prices for cars with less than 25k miles and one with 11k on cars.com now. Prices are not going up on them. However it does fluctuate pending sellers and what they ask. I noticed the DB9's left are ones that have been on for a bit save one or two. The lower priced cars usually get scooped up and the higher priced left. So pending on when you look.

06-07 with less than 25k on the clock I would pay likely no more than 50k. 08' about 55-58k with low low mileage. 09 is around 65k with 10's the same. Just from what I have been looking at. But remember almost ALL V8's have the timing cover leak around 18k miles. So if they have not been done then your looking at a 4-5k price at AM to get done.

Just did a PPI for a forum member on a 08 with 15k and it had the TC leak. Found squeaking when turning right, marring on the leather and door sills, TC leak, gauge cluster leather peeling back, front lip marring and sever scraping on right underside of lip, BUT..... had front end clear wrap, new tires (PSS), new brake pads, perfect paint, pretty good to perfect interior and perfect clutch. So in the end told the forum member to buy at 55-58k for the 08. Was a good buy, but someone scooped it up before he could get it.

Once they hit the 35k mileage mark almost all the 06-08 sell for similar or within 5k. Go for the newest with lowest mileage you can. OR go for a 06 with 35-40k on the clock and get it for upper 30's. Then drive the crap out of it.

Great info, is doing PPIs your primary gig or something you do on the side? You seem to know what you're doing, wish you were down in S Fla right now haha.

Ultimately it comes down to what you think your perfect car is worth to you and waiting for the right one to come along.

Probably doesn't help much, but you can PM me if you want a more specific description.

I thought the timing cover problem went away with the 4.7?
