Auto folding mirrors stopped working!

08 Vantage roadster. Came from my long trip started up car. Top wouldn't work. And when opening door window wouldn't roll down slightly. Did some research and windows needed to be reset (down hold 5 seconds up hold 5 seconds)

Anyways top started working but auto filing mirrors still not working. Maybe I didn't reset windows properly. Does car need to be on or off? Door open or door closed?

At first I thought it was too modified but maybe not?

Unfortunately, you'll need an AMDS to set the mirror fold function on a 08 and earlier model.

Typically this happens during a low voltage event. Has the battery been low or dead lately?

Also what's the best way to get battery checked out? Autozone?

When do I know it's time to replace battery? Might even be on the original battery.

Car sat for 5-6 weeks, hesitated starting, battery is 5-6 years old?

You might not know when to change the battery, but your car knows
Change the battery

lol yea your right. hesitation is only when car sits for a few weeks. But after first drive its usually ok. but might be a good idea to change battery anyways.

Most auto parts stores can test the battery, but you'll likely have to pull it out for them to test since it's inside the car behind the passenger seat. They might be able to get to it with it still in the car, but if it's 5-6 years old you might as well plan on getting a new one. It's a fairly straight forward DIY with a good write-up on Redpants' web site. The only gotcha is you'll lose any sort of memory settings when the battery is out of the car. You could get one of the memory tenders that you can plug into the 12v power outlet that will maintain the memory while you swap the battery. If you've already lost the memory setting then that may not be an issue. I've gotten in the habit of keeping vehicles I don't drive every few days on a battery tender. Prolongs the life of the battery and keeps you from having weird electrical issues.

Astons hate any battery that is not in solid performance condition. So many time there are posted problems directly or indirectly related to the poor condition of the car's battery battery. The battery change out procedures are noted in the FAQ section. My comment is to have the right tools AND be patient...it's a little tricky. I keep my battery on a trickle charger and change the battery every 3 years here in HOT weather Florida. The last time the store exchanged it free as it tested below "very good". I have been lucky not to lose settings when I swapped batteries. Good luck with your change out !
