Kudos to Redpants

I just finished my first DIY service on my 09 Vantage with the help of my son. I purchased the two year service package from Rich Seidlitz which included an oil change package, 10 ltrs of Motul oil, cabin filters and engine air cleaners. We installed them all this past weekend with the benefit of Rich's online videos.

The only hitch was that the AM dealer who did the annual service last year screwed the oil filter on WAY TOO TIGHT. None of my filter wrenches would work. It took a Harbor Freight 'mother of all screwdrivers' to puncture it an pop it loose. Every thing else was smooth.

Just the oil change portion of my dealer service last year alone was a ridiculous $650! They also quoted me $125 to replace my wiper blades!! That's silly. Complex service issues merit AM dealer service but simple maintenance can be done by owners or a competent auto shop at a much lower cost. It's not rocket science.

My vote is to support Rich Seidlitz and Repants.lol for his passion to keep these beautiful automobiles reasonable to own and operate.

I, too, do everything I can do on my own with the help of Rich at Redpants. I saved a ton of money by doing my own oil and filter change, transmission oil and filter change, air filter changes, cabin filter changes, thermostat and coolant change, brake fluid flush/Porterfield brake pad upgrade, and a few other odd jobs. More in-depth issues I can then leave to the Aston Martin dealer. By doing some basic maintenance on your own, you not only save money, but you become more familiar with your vehicle and possibly nip other problems in the bud. You can do it!

Rich's video's are awesome!

I recently did the oil change as well and Porterfield no dust pads from redpants.

Same here, the oil filter was so tight, the screwdriver technique was my last resort as well and required few attempts. Mine was so tight that the bracket from the engine even came lose with the filter.

i have called and emailed Rich when I was on the road with a problem with my Vantage V8 and he was responsive in trying to troubleshoot my problem which ended up being a defective gas pedal. I have purchased trans oil/ filters etc from him. We need to continue to support Rich/Redpants so his business can continue grow!

Yeah for sure. I've been looking at relocating but the supply hiccup has slowed that plan down. So I should still be here.

I knew the relocation bit, but thought it was mid-year next year. I am now assuming its REDPANTS related.

I will 99% be up there starting in JAN most likely in Herndon area. Looking for a 2-car garage place. Check your email please

Brake calipers ----- planning on removing and then just painting over the powder coating. Then stickers and high temp clear. Should be just fine. But thats the plan at this point.

Let me pile on! I recently ordered a new set of dry air filters from Rich. I needed to order a spare o-ring for the MAF to airbox gasket and Rich indicated he was out of stock. BUT--he threw in a good used one he had in his parts pile for free. Amazing service and always super fast shipping. Thanks for all you for the AM community Rich!!! Keep up the GREAT work.

Hi...before I purchased my car. My son did heavy research such as V8 -v12...one crazy company...redpants kept coming up on videos...etc..a guy named Rich.

I purchased my AM based on being able to do most things ourselves from Rich's free advice. He seems to be helpful and a gentleman even at times I would probably tell people to go pound themselves...lol

Also on this line are many people and techs that help when they can...we should be grateful for people like Rich and others here.

Unfortunately I've never rung his register, but have exchanged enough emails to know when somebody is doing it right. Kudos

Bought many things from Rich and will continue to do so. He's a great guy and I'm a big supporter of his business. Rich is always happy to answer my questions and has never steered me wrong. If you haven't bought your maintenance parts from him, you're definitely missing out on some good deals. Keep up the good work, Rich. Redpants is becoming an AM household word.
