Failed Dipped Beam Warning... (Fix Included)

Hello all,

Newer owner of an 07 V8 Vantage here. Yesterday I was driving and I got a Failed Dipped Beam Warning on my dash. The passenger low beam is in fact out. I spoke to Red Pants and with their current issues they could not help me source a new bulb. I was given the stock part number but is there a standard part number so I do not have to use factory replacements and can save a few bucks or I should stick with factory? Are there other vendors that I could contact? Lastly, is there any DIY instructions anywhere?

Thanks in advance for all of your input! This really is a great forum and as I learn more about the car I look forward to contributing as well!

Halogen or HID Lighting?

You don't state which type of lighting you have; the bulbs/components are different.
If you have HID lighting, the ballast could be defective; that happened to me under warranty.

There should be spare halogen H9 and H11 bulbs in your toolkit.

Check your owners manual, as there is a lot of information there.

The D1S HID bulb appears to be available on Amazon, and it's only $60; list price $125.

Here is what I found in the owners manual...looks to be H9 for main beam and H11 for dipped beam.
I think you might be able to turn the wheel inboard enough to get the panel off and reach in...I haven't tried it so....
Standard buld UNLESS you have HID...then it seems you are going to AM...

From the Scuderia site...number 3 is the ballast, number 8 is the HID bulb...

Well it looks like it is an HID! Are there any vendors you recommend that may have slightly discounted parts such as Red Pants?

According to DonL's post from the owners manual it is the correct number...I wouldn't always go by Amazon's listing being accurate, especially with our cars applicability and it being in the Ford conglomerate era.

Well it was not the HID bulb so now I need to see if it is the ballast. Can anyone confirm the Philips 4061123 is the correct ballast for the 2007 V8 Vantage? Thanks all for all of your help!

I am actually having this issue as well but did not want to start a separate thread

My bulbs however are not out, but rather not leveling, the beams are not straight when driving at night

I am assuming that the relay controlling the leveling/"dipping" or fuse is out? I have a 2010 with factory HID's - any idea if/where the relay is or if it's a fuse?
