Vanquish S vs. the others

Hello!

I need opinions from those who have experience with some cars I'm thinking of buying.

Drove SL55, CL65 and Bentley GT. All were fine cars, fast, luxurious but they just didn't make me want to part with my money. Went to Ferrari dealer who predictably was filled with *******s. After I showed my Black Amex to the manager I got some attention. I liked the 575 but it is being replaced. The 612 is butt-ugly IMO.

Then I saw an Aston Martin Vanquish S. And I want it. Black or grey. An owner told me that he has had three Ferraris and unlike them one can drive the Aston everyday, everywhere, no worries just like Mercedes, only in style. The sound alone is worth $10K.

$250K is boat money so any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have a friend who has owned all the cars you mention, his current stable is SL65, Vanquish "S", Vanquish and 430. This is his 2nd Vanquish and 1st Vanquish "S" and need I say more. It is a DD and the exhaust is bar none the best I have ever heard, PS get your dealer to mod it and lave the valves open all the time!

Thanks Marc!

May I ask what color combinations your friend has had and what you think of them?

I'm tempted to get a metallic grey with burgundy interior a'la Pierce Brosnan...

Haha, I know what you mean. I would go with the Vanquish S hands down before any of your other selections. What kind of boat do you have?

My input is rather irrelevant, but my grandpa has a Vanquish S and the car is just gorgeous. The sounds and power is just amazing

Vanquish S is the nicest car with the V12 in front, hands down.

I think the Vanquish has an 8 to 10 year lifespan, so were only halfway through right now.

Isnt the transmission on the Vanquish very very bad? Or is it better for the "S" version?.... I think that the new CL63 is the best choice!

I disagree Compared to the vantage, db9, and rapide the vanquish's exterior is very dated, the interior has been refreshed, but looks thrown together. The db9 shares the same engine as the vanquish.

The transmissiion is an F1 fitted on to a manual instead of an automatic. it isnt very smooth to drive.

Vanquish puts more power out and it is the top of the range model. It's a bit like the merc SL; that car is dated too in some respects but they will keep it in production simply because they always let a SL run for ~10 years. Aston Martin is no stranger to this concept, just think of the Lagonda.

The Vanquish is one of the best looking cars on the road. Better looking then ANY ferrari or porsche
