Used Vantage needs new engine
Yes that was me. I took my driver seat out and brought it to a leather shop and received a call the next day from the owner saying my foam had disentigrated and that there was a gooey substance behind the leather. After I shared the yearly application of leatherique that I massaged into the seats, he said the leatherique had destroyed the foam over he past 9 years. He replaced the foam and and stitched the seats back together. They are now 90% and I no longer use leatherique.
[QUOTE=HabitualOffender;4746486]Just curious but are the coils over or under the foam?
The heater grid/coils are on top of the foam, if the seat heaters were used frequently they add to breaking down the foam also. Or just down right melting into the pattern you see on this example.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by ragged? Paint is bad? Wheel rashes? Are the seats just as bad in person (associate was telling me that the heat coil pattern looks way worse in pictures than in person)

Can’t quite put my finger on it the seats are very loose, the paint looked kinda dull I just wasn’t impressed. I had just looked a another one previously that was immaculate. The seats really threw me, they look as bad or maybe worse In person and I know they’ll be very expensive to fix and will bother me if not fixed. And with 6 previous owners on the car fax, no service history, only one key and no books. There are nicer examples out the for similar money. Just my humble opinion, hope it helps.

Oh the keys, it’s like 2k for a second ECU, another 300 for the emergency key witch is the only way to get into the car if the battery dies and I’m not sure how much for the valet key another couple hundred bucks would be a safe assumption.
Somebody bought the car and it doesn't even have a motor in it? I find that odd. Definitely a good call to pass. Doesn't make me want to take my car there for any service. Glad we have other options.
What the new owner wrote on FB, the car is getting an engine at the moment and will be delivered to FL within the next few weeks.
