Might be funny to you, but it's not something I would personally consider.

It wouldn't have been much more effort to weld on a small pair of circular clamps and have it be held in place properly vs something that looks like a prototype. Would help with the cost justification in my opinion.

I have an engine fault code on the dash after i installed the GT4 kit. 2/8 cylinders get to much air! I also have the tune. Exhaust system is stock. Any idea?

"Too much air" - what this means is that there is air getting into the engine somewhere that has not been measured by the Mass Airflow sensor. For it not to be measured by the sensor it means the air is getting into the intake system somewhere between the Mass Airflow sensor and the engine.

Since you installed our kit, which mounts the filter before the mass airflow sensor, I would suspect you have probably inadvertently pulled something loose in the intake, and created an air leak. Check all your connections, check your clamps, if you had the valved airboxes, check that your vacuum lines which would operate the airbox are capped/plugged effectively, or if you removed them, that the port on the intake is capped effectively.

Today i read the codes. Initially bank one ran too lean. Refixed the hose at the intake manifold (was slightly loose). Driven for 20 min. No fault. Restarted the car, drove for 5 min. -> Fault. Now Both banks too lean. Refixed the hose of the left intake duct, which also seemed to be losened. Drove the car for 20 min. no fault. Restarted the car After 5 min Pause. -> both banks run to lean. Cleared the code, drove 20 min. , no fault. Ideas? 🤷‍♂️

I would take the car to a mechanic and have them smoke test the intake system.

Are dirty and old (they are the 1st, car is MY07) MAF sensors underrepresenting intake airflow also a potential cause?

Stuart was right. A tiny gap between the MAF duct and the intake hose caused P0171 and P0174 in my car! Thank you!

The fault turned back again 🤮 I now changed the hose clamps. Hopefully this works.

I would think that's something you'd find on a Mustang, not an Aston.

It should come as no surprise, that anything being secured with a piece of plastic like a zip tie or a zip clamp, is substandard to a proper (read: metal based) clamp/attachment system.

But hey... what do I know.

those clips were from factory. The VelocityAP Intake is awesome!

Are you suggesting that the zip ties are causing an air leak?

I checked the entire intake system and did the smoke test. No vacuum leak. Then I changed the MAFs. Fault again showed up on the dash.

I then did some ECU logging with the car on idle

Fuel System Status Bank 1 = 2
Fuel System Status Bank 2 = 0
Intake Manifold Pressure 34 kPa
Short term fuel trim bank 1 = -4 to +6
Long term fuel trim bank 1 = 3
Short term fuel trim bank 2 = -12 to -2
Long term fuel trim bank 2 = 13
Mass air flow 5.83 g/s
Throttle position 12,941176 %
Location of o2 Sensor 51

Then I reflashed the original ECU file and the values were as follows:

Fuel System Status Bank 1 = 2
Fuel System Status Bank 2 = 0
Intake Manifold Pressure 54 kPa (34 after CEL came one)
Short term fuel trim bank 1 = -1 to 5
Long term fuel trim bank 1 = 0
Short term fuel trim bank 2 = -1 to 4
Long term fuel trim bank 2 = 3 (went up to 11 after the CEL came one)

The car did again throw a CEL during the first drives after reflashing the Stock Software but OBD reading showed both 02 sensors stuck in lean position and P2073 Throttle body position / MassAirFlow and both Banks running lean.

Is this a hint for the 02 sensors being damaged and giving the car a false „lean“ signal or did I just not find the leak? 😭
