VelocityAP Airbox Delete Kit for V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage, DB9, DBS, Vanquish, Rapide

Hi Everyone,

We've had a V12 Vantage in the shop for an extended build (turned a little longer due to some brake-wheel clearance & fiddling.) Our resident Guru Chris (aka. Irish007 aka Tuning@VelocityAP) worked with the guys in our fab shop to design an airbox delete system for this car which allows a cone filter to be fitted. It worked out so nicely we've had it patterned and will be producing it for resale.

It consists of two CNC Lasered & bent 11G stainless brackets. These bolt directly to the factory mounting points on the chassis. Two small holes and some stout cable ties hold the MAF tube in place.

The filters we used for the prototype are designed for a 3" inlet tube, whereas the MAF tubes are 3.25" so we're having the filters specially made for ease of fitment. They contain an integrated silicone neck and clamp so they affix firmly to the end of the MAF tube, with no risk of falling off or coming loose. The filters are also an open funnel style so have substantially more surface area than a normal cone or cylinder filter.

Kits will include:
- LHS Bracket
- RHS Bracket
- Cable Ties
- 2 x 3.25" Inlet Open Funnel Cone Filters

We have a fair bit of lead time on the filter manufacturing, probably about 6 or 8 weeks. If people are interested, we can probably set up a group buy/pre-release special offer with a discount.

No. These are not stock fitment filters. The OEM filter is held in place by the airbox itself, basically it just slides onto the inlet neck, but when you put the two halves of the airbox together it pushes up on the base of the filter and holds it in place. Without that airbox the only thing holding the filter on is some elasticity of the filter body on the inlet tube.

These filters have a tapered silicone 'exit' side, with a cylindrical exit so you can use a screw clamp to hold them firmly in place, and not worry about them wiggling their way loose over time or hard driving conditions.

What are the advantages of going to this vs. the OEM application?

Always some risk when removing the airboxes. That said, the race cars use a similar setup, have run in the wet without issue. From what we've seen you'd pretty much have to drive into a puddle at speed to hydrolock the engine.

No, changing up for this setup won't require a new calibration.

This.

You'd have to be seriously reckless about driving through standing water, submerging most of the filter in the process, for the intake to actually draw in water. I'd hope nobody is practically fording rivers in their Aston... lol

The entire filter would need to be submerged. Try sucking water through a straw with a hole in it, doesn't work.
