Hi everyone, first time poster here. I contribute a lot on Rennlist - but well, it's time to spice things up! Or shall I say, add some Branston Pickle
I will be keeping my 993 and 996 GT3, looking to try (add) something completely different. I've lurked here for a while, read the online reviews and all of the prior posts here in the Aston forum.
I think I really will enjoy the GT - I like raw cars, my GT3 as an example, so think the Vantage GT will fit well with my preferences. I did consider a 2014 standard Vantage V8 in beautiful silver over chancellor red for sale this fall in NC. I watched it as asking prices dropped, I snoozed, and it was sold. Beautiful color combo, to my eyes.
Now back to the GT. There is one for sale locally at the AM dealer, but I just can't get my head around the dark blue/red lipstick. It does look better in person, but I just can't see myself in it.
There was a nice looking white GT w/ the red lipstick in West Palm Beach - by the time I warmed up to the color combo, it was sold.
There is/was a nice Skyfall silver one in TX, but seemed overpriced to me esp. in a private sale (at least based on the dealer asking prices I've seen). Also harder to see/ship...
So I guess I am looking for advice here on how to find a really nice car. I am willing to buy remotely. It doesn't have to be a 'no miles' example, condition is everything. I have an alert on Autotrader, while hoping something may come up through the grapevine. All of my great 911's have been bought from sellers that were not advertising...
Here is my current spec, trying to be as flexible as possible:
- Vantage GT (or a really nice V8 or V8S)
- Must be a manual, must be a coupe
- Assuming a GT - silver, white or alloro green from the standard colors offered - with or without lipstick, no light interiors.
- Assuming a non-GT car - any tasteful color combination I guess other than exterior reds or blacks...
Grateful for any ideas or leads.
I am prepared to wait for the right one. I think I may have missed 1 or 2 since the fall, so at that rate, will have to be patient or move faster
Patience is your friend. Took a year for the right car to show up for me. What I found interesting is that most cars listed for sale online that sold, eventually ended up being listed for sale again at some.point.
Autotrader had the most listings but I also had saved searches at cars.com and CarGurus as well.because not all listings showed up on all three sites.
Sounds like you looked at a Mariana Blue GT. I almost bought that color.combo (red lipstick and all) but Yeolow Tang won me over.
I followed my car from St Louis, to PA and finally to West Palm like, where I bought it, over an 8 month period.
Good luck on your search. The right car will turn up.
If you're interested my 2015 skyfall silver GT is for sale. It was well cared for, lower milage, always serviced at FCI. It has some good options like premium audio and park sensors front and rear

I just traded it in on a 2019 Vantage..
Good luck with your search, its part of the fun, at least for me
I am on the same search. Cars.com is where I have been keeping track of all of them. I like you are not a fan of the lip stick. If it was a GT3 car..then all day. However on a sexy street car like the Vantage. I want more class then race. And you already have that with your GT3.
Skyfall silver and the teal/green are my fav.
Good luck on the hunt! Hopefully we dont find the same car lol
My local dealer (Waltham) has a few V8V's manuals and that should be closest dealer outside of Montreal. This '15 GT is beautiful one owner sold by them new for 80K
Hi Matt. Owner of that 2014 Vantage from NC now. Sorry I stole your car.
You are probably in the same situation I was in early this year, narrowing down options and seeing what's available. Like the other posters have mentioned, patience is required.
I got scooped on 2 or 3 cars during my year long search. I think part of it is because there are so few Aston built and even fewer Astons built with manuals.
Check Autotrader religiously but also check the for sale forums here as well. I would have bought that silver Centenary Vantage if I had checked this website a month before it got sold.
If you go to cargurus, and do a nationwide search there are 19 Vantage GT Coupes for sale.
Thanks for the tip - was not on my radar, will definitely do that. The pool gets smaller with manuals, but yes, they are out there.

I saw that one - I kind of moved on, the rear had me wondering - is it wrapped or factory option?

Lots of cars for all of us I actually do like the graphics (would of course remove the GT side decal) on at least some of the variants. I would love an Alloro green with the yellow, or the white/red one I recently missed. I don't see the point of the light lipstick on the Skyfall - there can't be many of those...

Nice looking. And close to home. Interesting to see how these cars get presented - the pics here IMO don't actually look quite 'right' - must be a filter they applied to the digital images. Much prefer to see really clear detailed hi-rez images to get an idea of real condition.

Congrats! That car was really presented well in the pics - it is really stunning. I am glad it got picked up by someone that will enjoy it (vs. getting flipped to another dealer).
Thanks again everyone. Really looking forward to getting into one of these. As someone pointed out above, sometimes the fun is in the search.

If they're selling, it's in great condition I can assure you. They'd only offer the car on if it was "all that". I have never seen them sell an iffy car of any marque. Call them up and ask on the car. I can check out personally if you want later this week. I had plans to stop by there to swap out my ECU batteries. Also, it's from an AM dealer so you could get the extended service contract if it doesn't already include one year. I bet you could work it out so there is no inspection fee for certification if it's not certified.
I traded in my 2007 Vantage on my 2016 GT in 2016. It was the Aston Martin east coast press car. It was loaded up with a tone of options. It is a wonderful car. I love the six speed manual, and the fact that it is one of last Aston Martin / Jag V8's.I was going to delete the side stripes as well, But in the end I decided to leave them on. You can't go wrong with a used one of these, wait and find the one that you really want, and keep it for a long time and drive the hell out of it.

You're quite right - the car is beautiful, I was commenting more on the fact the silver just 'pops' in the pics! Yes, I'd be grateful if you do stop by to take a peek and let me know your thoughts on any cosmetic blemishes. The pics seem to show a bit of wheel and wheel-well/rocker rash, but it's hard to tell without being there in person. Based on the low miles it 'should' be perfect, but if it saw track or snow or careless parking then you'd expect some minor wear. Not everyone takes care of even expensive cars like you or I would.

Gorgeous - wow, a real beauty. I really do like the yellow graphics pack on the Alloro Green
I have ordered the Gaydon Aston book as I am trying to quickly get up to speed on all the options offered on these cars vs. what was stock.
