One additional data point: I was getting a very noticeable chirping sound on my 2007 V8 Vantage. The sound was getting worse over time, and it did NOT go away once the engine was fully warm.

It turned out that the idler pulley was going bad and making the sound. A new pulley and new FEAD belt cured the problem fully.
