Will oil siphon work to remove most oil?

I know we have a dry dump. I only drive 2 to 4K miles a year. Just thinking instead of getting a oil change every year I can just siphon oil myself from top and refill oil. Will dry dump allow me to siphon oil?

You could theoretically sipohon the oil out of the reservoir, but much easier to just drive it up on some boards/ramps, remove the undertray, and drain it from underneath. A yearly oil change is cheap insurance and I wouldn't skimp on it. Not a whole lot of oil comes out of the back two plugs so you could probably skip those, but I'd drain the reservoir and the first plug and change the filter.

It's easy enough to do a simple oil change, why would you want to do it from the top? and make a mess. The dry sump drains back to the engine, you would spend more time most likely doing it from the top. Where is your mobile mechanic that you used to use?

Ok I'll keep doing it the regular way.

Just thinking with siohon I won't need anyone else and I could do it myself.

Thanks for the response.
