Post Aston Martin DB11 By Formula X Auto Detailing

Hello Everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Horlan and my business is Formula X Auto Detailing. We specialize in higher-end auto detailing with services like Ceramic Coating and Paint Restoration via polishing (paint correction). Today I’d like to share with all of you enthusiasts a special project we recently completed, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we have. Our client had reached out to us looking to protect his Aston Martin DB11. Powered by a 503hp 4.0 L V8 this exotic piece of engineering was polished and coated to complete its aesthetics and protect it against the environments toughest challenges.

Our client was looking to enhance the gloss on his vehicle that would also add a substantial layer of protection that no wax or sealant can offer so we suggested to have a ceramic coating installed, The results left behind astonishing levels of gloss and hydrophobicity (highly repellent). I'll let the pictures speak for them selfs as we sit back and enjoy this English beauty.

Cleaning up the wheels to remove all fallout and brake dust using our Ph balanced wheel cleaner.

After Inspection, we moved on to the wash and prep work to get the car ready for paint correction and polishing. In addition to the car being meticulously washed by hand, we also deep cleaned the wheels removing many miles of built-up brake dust and grime The car was then clay barred to remove any bonded surface contaminants allowing for a cleaner polishing process with better results.

Getting foamed down prior to wash

Lightly brushing all cracks and crevices to remove hidden debris.

We then tapped up all trim and sensitive areas to prevent any damage or discoloration.

Although the vehicle was brand new our quality control did come across a few light hair scratches that were visible to the naked eye.

The results left an amazing level of gloss and hydrophobicity with a mirror like reflections.

Look at that gloss reflecting the sky!

The heart of this beast was also cleaned and detailed.

Although the primary service was geared towards protecting and polishing the exterior the interior did receive a thorough cleaning & detailing. All leather surfaces were cleaned and conditioned while the floormats were steam cleaned and extracted.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our recap of this Aston Martin project, it was truly a pleasure making this beast look its best! If your car is looking old and tired, or your new car needs protecting, look no further we are Connecticut's # 1 choice for auto detailing, paint correction, and ceramic coating services in Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY.

Nice job - how do you protect the interior? Morries used CilaJet inside and out on my cars - the leather on my drivers seat has already worn through the Sahara Tan dye (only 5K miles) - is there something you use to prevent this premature wear or protect the leather? Cilajet certainly did no good. Curious

I guess he'll go out and neglect it again for a year or so. Very nice job, by the way, beautiful.

Hi, Yes we use Ceramic Pro Leather & Ceramic Pro Plastic to protect all the interior leather and components from fading, cracking, and premature wear. Not to sure how "Cilajet" works but Ceramic Pro is an interior coating that is designed to be more substantial than the products sold at your local automotive store. PS. Ceramic Pro can be only purchased from an authorized installer. if you would like to learn more about these products you can visit our website at www.formulaxautodetailing.com or Visit the Ceramic Pro Site by clicking here I'm pretty sure they may have some authorized installers in your area. Hope this helps!

Hi Cuddapah,

Our Customer had decided that he didn't want any Paint Protection Film on the vehicle as for the coating we used Ceramic Pro to coat the vehicle.

FYI, it's a v8 in that DB11, not a v12.

That's correct. DB11 V12 has two sets of vents on the hood.

The OP said it was a V8 in his first post.
