Good to see legendary grille back!
Good to see legendary grille back!
I'm not a big fan of SUVs in general, and the camouflaged photos looked pretty bad to me. So, I am very pleasantly surprised by the stance and look of this vehicle. I wish AM all the success in the world with this new platform. I sure hope it sells!

It’s a personal thing, .....this is not for me.
An Aston must be elegant sexy and understated, it must tell a story about the driver or owner without saying a word, IMO.
if you want a SUV get a Range Rover sport if you really need to get into the mud get a land cruiser ....
this thing looks like an infinity or Lexus or some other thing, Kia ?
just my thoughts. ....

While I'm not a huge fan of the exterior, it kind of looks like a conglameration of lots of other SUV, a bit Macan, a bit Ford (who admittedly ripped off their own styling from Aston but somehow now owns it in my mind) and a bit Infinity, the interior looks stunning. I wish they took this direction on the interior of the DBS / DB 11...I might own of those now instead of hanging onto my Vanquish, which just feels more "special" inside to me than the current model selection.
And I hope they sell like hotcakes, because look what the Cayenne did for Porsche....better sports cars now because of the cash cow.
But I won't buy one.

Ditto the interior comment - if the Vantage and DB11/DBS interior was more 'pure' as this one is, then more would leave the showroom floors. It's not bad though, the duck tail back might turn off buyers like the catfish Vantage front - a bit weird. Some of the SUV's I drove (test drove) handled nice and quick, but at $190K (likely $220+K with options) there is some tough competition. I drove the Bentley SUV - I thought the seats hard as a rock (typical German) and drove truck-like. Yet I see some on Minneapolis roads. The Rolls SUV is the ugliest thing I've ever seen on the road - yet someone locally bought one. I think if it's comfortable, sounds like an Aston, plush, and handles like a Macon or better, they might actually sell. However, if they offer just a 3 year warranty, and require a $2K inspection annually just to keep the warranty in place, and also reject things or give a hard time fixing 'warranty' issues (as I've experienced in this 'Andy Palmer' era) it will turn customers off. The overall design is interesting. If you had the DBX and the new Mustang SUV side by side - and the Mustang did 0-60 in 3 vs, the DBX 4.5 and the DBX optioned as one would with a Vantage or DB11 (likely more like $220K), vs Loaded Mustang SUV at $60K - would you get the Mustang and the Ferrari Roma ($220K) for $280K total or the DBX at $220K? Or would you get the Mustang SUV and the C8 Corvette, both optioned and loaded for $150K with better warranties? We are in a very interesting time. I think Ferrari hit the target bulls-eye for this new era with the Roma, Ford with the new Mustang SUV. The DBX ??? The Porsches are not stunners but quite a bit less $$$ - it will be an interesting next 6 months to see what happens.
I think the Urus looked great in pictures and not as exciting in person....To me the Urus actually resembles a Pontiac Aztec in the flesh, albeit a better looking version.
And I don't like the Urus' interior. Like a lot of Lambos...it's too kitschy.
Again, I'm not the market for a $200K SUV. I need one understated car for my daily work that isn't too outrageous and doesn't scream "look at me" to my clients.
Will wait to pass judgement on exterior of DBX in person, as I actually like the exterior of the Vantage in person.
But the screen in the DBS / DB11 looks like it's just stuck on top of the dash and I can't get over that look. It feels way too pedestrian for an Aston. I like the integration of the screen (and size) on the DBX interior. Looks more like it was planned vs. an afterthought. Still....the flip up screen in my 15 Vanquish feels very bespoke and British. Kind of like the rotating screen in the new Continental. Classy....

The front end and side profile are OK, although the bright highlights around the bumper vents look like warts on a face.
The rear in isolation might be OK but it jars with the rest of the styling. But hey, no surprise there, it's another design from crosseyed Marek.
Good move on the interior with the integrated screen - all the models should adopt this immediately.
Can't wait to accessorize mine with the "portable dog washer", whatever TF that is... a hose, maybe?
