Great cars and tough choice to make for me. But you are a lucky man to have driven and own both

 

To each his own, a manual doesn’t necessarily have to do with power. Rowing through gears for me is fun in both an underpowered car such as a Lotus or a high powered car such as a CGT. To me, a manual is more enjoyable in a car that handles well....tossing a Lotus through T2 at Laguna Seca after several downshifts and rev matching with heel toe is bliss.

But if I’m driving a heavy GT car to work, I don’t feel the need to row through gears.
And yes, the DBS is underpowered IMO...510HP out of a 6.0L V12 is weak but power was never Aston’s primary focus as compared to Ferrari, Lambo or Porsche.

 

All right! Installed the One77 steering wheel which I got from astonmartinbits.com. My buddy has a shop and just had him do it...took about an hour. One main difference is the location of the horn buttons, so there is a slight difference but overall the same.
I think the steering wheel makes a huge difference...love how it feels ergonomically as well on the hands.

 

Very nice, I agree, that steering wheels make the car...wonder if they make one for a V12 Vantage...

 

Glad you like it! I think I'll do mine this spring. I am kicking around the idea of doing the larger CF shift paddles at the same time.

Did you need any special tools? I think when I read a writeup before, it's pretty simple stuff.

Good idea on the extended CF paddles...have done that on my 16M and Speciale.
No need for special tools...pretty simple.
