Hey did the porterfield R4-S pads still have no brake squealing on your 2019 Vantage? I am having a lot of brake squeal on my 2019 Vantage and looking to get these pads.

I'm glad I signed up because the pads worked -- squealing was gone!

@dcarrer0 did the R4-S pads stopped the squealing noise on your 2019 Vantage? Having the squealing issues on mine and looking for a fix.

Yes, it sure did. I replaced them on my DB11. Squeal gone and a lot less brake dust.
I replaced them on my 2014 Vantage too. All was gone as well. Couldn't recommend a better set of pads. Easy install too!

Thanks for the quick response! Did you ordered from VelocityAP? I will do it tomorrow, can stand the squealing.

I did. Quick shipment too. Rich kept saying they were on backorder. Velocity had them in stock so not sure what the deal was.

Yes. There is no brake squeal whatsoever with the R4-S pads. There is still some brake dust but a little less than OEM. Mind you, I got the prototype R4-S pads from Porterfield/RedPants so YMMV, but I doubt they changed the actual compound. Definitely give them a shot.

One other thing: I've used them on the track -- five 20 minute runs in my group, with 40 minutes in between run groups. No fade, no issues.

Thumbs up

Thanks @programmatore I don't track the car would love to but realistically city driving and some backroads on the weekend. The brake squeal would be the main reason for changing out the pads. I noticed RedPants links were down for the Porterfield so I will go with VelocityAP.
Did you have to go to the AM dealer to get pads swap out? any issues with the brake sensors working on the new pads?

You don't have to go to Aston Martin to get the pads swapped unless you love spending money unnecessarily.

It's a straightforward brake pad swap that any competent shop can perform (you can even do it yourself). The pads are a direct replacement so no issues with wear sensors, etc.

I second that. Very easy. Our E300 was 10 times as hard. Just ridiculous. Used a local mechanic.

One last thing: the R4-S pads are progressive without that really strong (obnoxious) bite of the OEM pads. The Vantage doesn't jerk anymore when coming to a complete stop.

Got the R4-S installed, ran it for 300KM, so far so good, no squeal braking and yes smoother braking then OEM. Fingers-crossed this keeps up.
Also noticed that the OEM pads were not grease between the callipers where the pads slides in on all four, got that greased as well.

Great info here. I have a' 11 V12 and was wondering if there were any Porterfield pads for this model. Anyone know parts number or website to inquire?

Thanks,
James
