Battery conditioner

Quick question. I have a new 2020 Vantage. I will be traveling sometimes for three weeks. Is it necessary for me to plug in the battery conditioner every time I go away? It seems kind of risky give the chances of power surges and other anomalies. This isn’t something I’ve ever confronted with other brands. For the record the cars seems really well put together and as my first trip away is next week I’m leery of leaving the car alone in the garage just plugged into the wall. Thoughts? Must I do this, what are the risks, if any. Or with such a new car are the risks negligible?

3 weeks, yes. 1 week no. Battery condition is critical on cars that's why it needs maintaining. AM along with others have been using this stand by charging for 20+ years for a reason. What period of time does the owners guide say to use a maintainer on the newer cars?

I have used CTEK battery tender for years, and have found that peace of mind is well worth the cost of the tender when I consider the problems associated with a dead or dying battery. No affiliation, CTEK just seems to be reliable.

The owner's manual is vague about it. I want to make sure I follow correct procedure.

Hi, I would contact the dealer where you purchased the car and ask them. After you get back from your trip, if the car does not work.
The dealer must tow and repair for you. J Double U has the best advice. I use my charger only when my car sits for two weeks or more.
Safe trip....

The vantage has a built in charger port - magnetic circular thing above license plate. I believe the aston tender is $600. I bought an adapter for my ctek 4.3 from juiceyourride.com for $100. Which also required the comfort indicator pigtail adapter for $9 from amazon to clip into my ctek. All in, under $200.
ctek has built in surge protection also btw

I have a 2020 vantage. Which should I purchase? The 4.3 or the 7? Also does it not come with the adaptor that you had to buy on amazon? Just trying to save money but protect the battery here in Colorado.

Thank you

Hidden battery

I just purchased a 2020 Vantage and need to trickle charge the battery while it sits through another North Dakota winter. I did not get a magnetic hookup when I bought he car, so I will probably wire something up to the fusebox contact in the engine bay. But......... Where is the actual battery located? I also have a 2005 DB9 with its battery cleverly sequestered away under the back seat squab.... but this Vantage doesn't have a handy back seat to hide it under... and I couldn't immediately find a secret door in the trunk. The manual describes the location as "...remove the trim panel, located in the rear environment." ..........Where do you suppose the "rear environment" starts and ends?
Seriously, has anyone found their battery in a 2020 Vantage?

It is the panel behind the passenger seat that comes out for access to the battery. No tools needed. Index finger on the inside edge about halfway up and gently pull towards you. 2 tabs at the bottom act like a hinge.

That sounds like an improvement! Thank you for the info.

These questions are too funny to me, I have asked myself the same questions and posted about it an my own adventure for battery tender. I bought the same pigtail referenced above (juiceourride, no affiliation) and paired it with my Porsche CTEK, I am going to have to go look behind the passenger seat, I also had NO IDEA what "rear environment" means!

Courtesy of J doubleU's instructions, I discovered the secret compartment behind the passenger seat of my Vantage. Sure enough when you pry open the panel, the battery is revealed .... well kinda. It looks like the communication deck of The Starship Enterprise in there. I think I'm pretty "handy" but I really doubt that I would attempt to remove the battery and all its associated harnesses, boxes, fuses, wires and other 'objects' that are attached to it in that little space. Wow! What a rat's nest that area is. All the more important to maintain the battery for as long as possible. Good luck with your pigtail conversion Khiroshima. I searched on the internet for just the magnetic disc connector that is used by Aston and found the German manufacturer but nobody over here in the States has it in stock. Rosenberger manufactures the doohickey (Its called a Magcode)...if you are interested in trying to track one down.

I will check it out!
No need for luck for the cigarette lighter to magnetic converter, I bought it and it's on my car this moment! I'm happy with it and their customer service. Seems little pricey for what it is, but . . .

No affiliation, just a happy customer--

Found this Magcode part with a short leadtime: https://www.invertersupply.com/index...hoCtDUQAvD_BwE
