Db9.2 docking station issue

So car I have deposit on just developed an issue where it takes a couple of try’s every once in a while to start, the Aston dealer says replace dock and seller is suggesting a cleaning of the leads should be sufficient. Anyone have any experience with this issue that can give some advice?

Yeah I found a few but none of them go far enough to reach a solution. Just mostly interested in if this terminal cleaning has ever been a solution for anyone or I should just budget a new dock and be done with it.

Issue is solved. Turned out one of the springs in the dock mechanism had come off its track, re installing solved the issue with car cranking over normally. While in there they cleaned the mechanism and contacts for a little extra insurance. Well worth a try for anyone else that has the issue.

This is for the emotional key, lol? I too have to push the key a few times to get it to start. Inserting slow (insert joke) seems to work best. I was told to replace the docking station. Found one on eBay for about $800, and was told by dealer it's a direct replacement, no programming or dealer mandated reprogramming.

Yeah, dealer quoted me $1500. You might be able to fix yours if it has same issue as mine did.
