I am shopping for a Vantage, probably 2008ish. I was in one the other day, a black on black sportshift convertable. I noticed that the ski slope wasn't smooth, but more like an almost rough, wood grain look, but gloss black. Was that ever available or is there something terribly wrong with it?
It probably was glossy piano black that has faded and the actual woodgrain becomes transparent. No pictures of this rare phenomenon you have witnessed?
It doesn't look horrible if it was meant to look that way and not an indicator of some underlying damage. It does have a clean carfax and I am going to have it inspected prior to purchase, but I'll try and post a picture soon.
That thing is horrible, appears someone tried to make a piano black with some rustoleum from the hardware store. As said before, easy to fox by replacement.
Mine had the same issue, though not nearly as pronounced. Only 2 shallow lines. Easy fix to wrap it in carbon fiber, gloss black or forged carbon. Would tide you over until you can find a replacement.
Passenger front panel has been replaced with non OEM material. Vinyl? Pretty common for the leather to come loos on that piece. Actually a very easy fix using the original leather. Not sure why the PO swapped to a different material.
Both issue are from the sun, meaning the car was not garaged enough.
Okay, so you saw the same as I did. I thought the material on the passenger side was odd, pleather? The rest of the car seems very clean and those items can be fixed so maybe I will continue with the inspection and see where that goes. Thank you everyone for your responses.
