Being replaced by Tobias Moers of AMG. Hope it doesn’t mean AMG engines everywhere. That would truly be the end.

Crazy things going on, does that indicate a good buy for stock @ $0.47 a share to start tomorrow morning off?

Finally - been waiting for this day! Hopefully it means we get AMG engine experience for next gen Aston Martins and not AMG engines... cross fingers.

Totally wrong decision .
Theres no one more loyal to the name and brand that is Aston Martin than Andy Palmer . I fear Aston will become another Mercedes spin off company like AMG and will loose the whole “Quintessential British Sports Car” look and feel and just become some other mass produced car with some add on go faster stuff .

Seriously? It was Palmer who brought AMG into Aston! Along with forcing the dealers to take excessive stock - be far to picky on warranty issues and plummet the value of the company and its (ours) cars! Good riddance.

Totally right decision from a $ point of view. The buck stops with the CEO and the company is again in a disastrous financial situation. You can't lay it all at his feet, but the ridiculous IPO and plethora of vanity projects and distractions such as the hypercars, AM branded power boats and condos are all part of his legacy. So what if he is a fan of the brand? Knowing the history, he extended too far. The SUV is way too late to the party, also, although that can be blamed as much on Bez as Palmer.

Just a shame they didn't can Reichman at the same time...

Who knows if AM will become an AMG type spin-off? I hope not. Unfortunately, I do not think there is any chance they can stay afloat without a parent with deep pockets. Their greatest success was under Ford. At least Ford had the wisdom to let them retain their unique character. We don't even know if Mercedes is going to acquire a bigger stake. If they do, maybe they will be as sensible as Ford.

I'd be seriously pissed if I learned that I was fired from someone in the press. I hope Aston's leadership has more class than that.

Late in 2019 I had a huge problem with the sales staff at a dealership here in the US. I had ordered the 2020 Vantage AMR and was really being given the run around. I mean, big time..... all sorts of BS about price, delivery, etc.... really shoddy & not consistent with a premium (or any) marque. In frustration I found Dr. Palmer's email address and sent him an email. I figured "Why not?" 20 minutes later Dr. Palmer called me on my cell! He put pressure on the dealership to get their (&*^%) together and suddenly I got all the information and service I needed. I also got an incredible price on the car. He personally made sure that I, a "new" conquest customer, got my hands on a manual transmission Vantage. I chalk it up to him that I didn't bolt and just get another 911. I'm sure there are reasons upon reasons for this to happen but at his heart the guy seemed to love the company and he sure looked out for the customer!

I wish him only the best.

Great story! I love it when a CEO responds to an email. It shows "customer obsession".

He must've known both directly and by hunch. I don't think he could publicly acknowledge the departure until it was announced by official channels.

A new CEO was inevitable; nothing particular to Palmer or Aston. Well, it does come down to performance for Palmer and the last couple of years it just wasn't there. I wish him the best.

Great discussion, not only on Cammisa's feelings on the new vs Gaydon Astons, but some insights on AP as well. If you didn't know before, Cammisa is a fan of the V8 and V12 Vantage.

For all the good or bad, Andy, with the help of Mathman, got my V8 to stop stalling. He threw down the gauntlet at AM and told them to get my car sorted. They must have spent $20,000 to do it, but it's been 15 months since the last stall.

So I for one would like to say, Thank you Mr. Palmer! I'm sure you'll land on your feet behind another big desk.

That's him alright. AP has assisted me in the past too. He's quite the gear head as well if you get to meet him in person. I reached out recently to see how he's doing and pleasantly surprised to receive a reply.
