Hi guys
So far so good, but I've had this before where the problem just randomly goes away for a while. I've driven the car about half a dozen times so far and all good at the moment, but I'm not holding my breath.
Trevor, tried to PM you but you can't get PM's? I'm in Perth as well and was curious as to who is looking after your car?
Deanoroger do you think the fuel system pressure sensor was the cause. I have exactly the same symptoms in my 2009 MY. Very keen to hear that you are now sorted before ripping the car to pieces and checking random things. cheers
Hi all, I'm touching wood as I type this but the issue seems to have gone away, this is definitely the longest stretch without a fault since I've owned the car. So the previous owner replace both fuel pumps to no avail. I had the inside of the fuel tank inspected and new seals fitted to the tank cover, no go. Then we replaced the fuel pump driver on the faulty side, still no joy. Then we replaced the fuel pressure sensor on the faulty side and that may have fixed it. Murphy's law that the cheapest and easiest thing was the culprit. As mentioned earlier, the pressure sensor is a standard bosch part, don't get ripped off by AM (or anybody sourcing parts from AM)
Cheers Dean

Good news then, did you have the part number for that Bosch sensor to hand. I am going out to get two.
So I have replaced both my fuel pressure sensors, and thus far, touch wood, all looks good. i am going to change the battery for good measure though, as I have had the car for 3 years, and I do not know how old that battery is. One thing to note, I followed someone's advice to remove the fuel pump relay and depressurize the fuel rail before removing the sensor. Apparently there is supposed to be 40psi pressure in there. I had zero pressure remaining and the car would not start with fuel pump relay removed. That was 13 days between starts though, I wonder how quickly that pressure is supposed to dissipate.
I too have replaced both fuel pressure sensors 11 days ago and no furt Rockauto....so you dont get buttreamed by AM
her problems. I use it as a daily driver too. Thanks to all who helped.
Just to add to this thread. My 06 DB9 was getting harder to start. Not severe but different. Decided to replace the fuel rail sensors.
On the 06, it's a different style. Still Ford Motor Co, but it's a 3r3z-9f972-aa, which I bought as a FPS7 fuel pressure sensor from Jeff Bezso. Fixed my issue! Well worth $145 for the pair....
Hi guys this is helping me massively. Just bought a 2007 DB9 all of a sudden limp mode same warnings. My guy has said to replace throttle bodies and throttle pedal because the throttle pedal is sending out at least 30% different values. Having this done next week but I am going to get the fuel pressure sensors replaced for good measure and the fuel inspection seal done as well because smell of fuel in cabin when parked. I think previous owner was having the same issue so decided to offload the car. I am hoping this thread will solve my issue as well as anyone else who’s getting this very unnerving issue.
