Since I bought my C8 I've been yearning for another Vantage, with the C8 and it's 7 year warranty being the 'driver' and the Aston being the occasional low mile car. Because I would be looking for a low priced car to avoid scrutiny from the spouse, I was looking for a deal. There was a low mile Vantage S on cars and Bids that went for an absurdly low $51K that I was bidding on, but had to be in a zoom meeting and failed to get the car, but would have been the winning bid. I ended up with a 2009 55K mile Sport Pack and Sportshift V8 Vantage from O'Gara Aston Martin for the following reasons: 1) I did not want a 4.3 Vantage because of the many updates of the 4.7. 2) The Tungsten Color and Sandstorm interior would be the colors I'd choose if ordering from the factory 3) I prefer the Sportshift 4) Buying from an Aston Dealer seems to be a safer bet (they found about $2K of work the car needed on their dime) 5) Looking at the CarFax it seemed to be mostly serviced by Aston Dealers and no accident or other gotcha's. 6) Reportedly (I've not seen the car yet) that there are only a few rock chips on the lower part of the front 'chin' that supposedly O'Gara will address before shipping, and a few wheel scratches. 7) $39,995 for the car!

Fears: 1) Worse than represented. In the past I've bought 2 other cars from O'Gara dealerships - on the sales side (Beverly Hills) it was nightmarish, but the service and delivered car was as represented (both dealerships). I do have confidence that O'Gara will properly inspect and service the car before delivery. 2) Excessively worn tan leather interior.... while my preferred Aston color, Aston's tan interiors don't exactly wear well vs. black. Will I have a bill to fix leather problems or not? It's represented as no issues. 3) 55K miles without a record of clutch replacement on the CarFax or other records. O'Gara said the clutch looks fine and maybe it's been replaced without a CarFax report, but if I have to change I'd do the dual clutch upgrade.

It just seemed to me that the prices of Vantages are far too high far too fast, especially the 4.3. The few seemingly good deals had accident histories or were salvage.

Yes this is a weird time and being a data driven person, it doesn't make sense. But one thing you can never predict is human emotion. That is why I'm not rich from the stock market LOL.

You have a great find, especially in this inflated market. Price is driven by a lot of factors my data is all averages to help normalize the outliers (not the best method but quick and easy). Mileage, transmission type, mods etc all impact the costs. Finding an 09 with 55K miles under 40K is a steal. Get a proper PPI done on the car. Best of luck with the purchase.

I believe the problem with O'Gara is Aston is their lowest tier brand. So they really don't care how AM customers are treated. Sounds like a great deal on you car though.
