Wheel Bounce at Full Steering Lock - New Vantage

Noticed something for the first time since getting the car. When pulling out of my driveway at low speed and full steering lock it feels as if the front wheels are bouncing. If I ease back on the wheel a little, it goes away. It happens both steering left and right and on flat and sloped pavement. Car drives perfectly otherwise. Anyone else experience this? Is this normal?

Did a google search. looks like it's the 'Ackermann effect'. Here's a paragraph from Autocar which describes the issue:

AMG skips a beat

"The well-publicised ‘tyre skipping’ issue with certain cars driven on full lock cannot be easily rectified, says Mercedes-AMG vehicle development director Drummond Jacoy. “It’s down to a performance car with a performance suspension set-up and performance tyre. There’s physically not a lot you can do about that,” he said. The phenomenon is known as the ‘Ackermann effect’ and can be dampened with all-season or winter tyres."

Seems it's more prevalent when the tires are cold. Guess you learn something new everyday, lol

I have the same tire skip on my 2019 DBS. This is considered normal. Check your owner's manual. In my owner's manual, Section 5 Driving page 5.3 describes 'Tire Skip At Low Speeds.'
"In certain conditions, the front tires may 'skip' at low speeds with summer tires installed when a high level of steering lock is applied. This is a characteristic of the vehicle and does not affect the safety or performance of the vehicle."
Thanks,
JH

I have it on my 2020 Vantage. I also experienced the same effect on my 997 version 911S and my 991.2 version 911S. It's normal.

You shouldn’t be at full lock to begin with, it puts too much strain on the power steering system.

I have experienced the Ackerman effect in my 07 V8V when parking, but I've also experienced it in a 5 series BMW E39 so I didn't really consider that it's odd with some cars....I am definitely citing the term at a happy hour or something though, now that I know it has a name...gotta watch out for the Ackerman effect.
