Original 2012 tires - ticking bomb?

I bought few months ago a 5.000 km from new V12V, and have done since then merely 500 more.

Car is like brand new, also tires, but I am afraid I am driving maybe on a ticking bomb and should replace as soon as possible the still original but already 10 years old tires.

I have no issue spending some cash if for safety reasons, but do not like to throw away money if I can still use them for few thousand more Km.

thanks for any view

REPLACE ....... You will also find that the new tires, at the same size and pressures are at least 30% more pleasant to drive on .....

And if it is like my 2006 DB9 with original tires I had to beat the rims off the wheel hubs due to the rust/corrosion. It was easy to convince myself that the wheels had never been off, that the airfilters had never been replace and that the oil filter was original. And while the filter might have been replaced I don't know how they did it without removing the wheel liner!

The cheapest insurance you will buy for your car AND you in it is good tires ! Would you ride with some one who you know has bad tires on their car? Don't hesitate another day. If you do..... don't allow passengers. When you get the proper new tires there is a bonus,.....It will ride and handle like a different V12V.

I bought 2012 Vantage with original tires, plenty of tread. Tires are hard and doesn't have traction, gives out when taking corners. Changed to new and much better. You can't experience the true capabilities of the car with old tires.

Around 2K out the door for new tires sounds like a no brainer to me. Get the car aligned while at it. Original air filters? Could be worth replacing since the front wheels will be off the car.

Do some donuts with the old hard tires. And get some new ones.

Donuts are not a good idea...some "ancient history" from 2012 that resulted in damaging the power steering pump...

I just had some Michelin PS4S put on my Vantage this morning in the later S size and they look great. I was losing air in three of them on my return home post evacuation last week and it was just time. They were 7 years old, on a 2007, so I can't even guess how hard yours are at this point. Just do it. It's not worth the risk.

Correct, change them ASAP.

A good friend of mine nearly died in a roll over, that totaled his Elise, caused by old tires.
